  1. Tis good, but not the greatest, I think the version from the 2nd Buenos Aires show (i.e. the only one we have a bootleg of here) is a great one. The only thing that always saddens me about WOWY is that they dropped Edge's solo slot, not to mention the regular snippeting which followed, e.g. Shine Like Stars, Love Will Tear Us Apart etc.

  2. yeah Edge's solo is great, thats why I like the Milan version (no snippets)

    Saitama is great but the audio quality isnt that good.

    4-stars, nothing wrong with that. Seems you only like 5-star crystal clear recordings...if so, you miss a lot of good stuff.
  4. Have really poor recordings too... but I just wanted to have all the 5-star recordings available,... have them now. In a while I will be downloading some great shows but poor performances...

    Heck, I might even download all the available shows... just to have them

    PS: why I just wanted the 5-star recordings: with that qualitiy you can listen and do other things, with a poor recording you have to listen carefully.

    But 4-stars aren't bad at all. Even more, they're great. Just try them...no need to concentrate that much.

  8. As for the new tour....I think Bono might put more oomph this time. HTDAAB was in a way riding on the U2 reinvention of ATYCLB, which is kinda why the two are put in the same grouping. Two very different eras tho. Elevation had great performances (with not so many bad performances), while Vertigo had varied sets (but performances could vary from sucky to spectacular).
  9. Just reading a blog on u2gigs.com, not sure how old it is but it made for interesting reading. The blogger was discussing songs that had been reportedly set to make appearances during the Vertigo tour etc. but didn't for one reason or another, and this was what struck me;

    "Reports that U2 were rehearsing Ultra Violet and Love Is Blindness were misinterpretations of a statement Bono made about how he would like to play those songs again at some stage."

    I know there are a lot of us who have mentioned these songs before, but I just wanted to briefly go through the thinking. We know Love Is Blindness did get a brief revival with that spontaneous performance on the 1st Buenos Aires show, but obviously not Ultra Violet. It would be uber if Bono is still gunning for those songs to make a reappearance on the next tour...

    Milan could have been so much more...partly why I don't watch it very often....and there are much better shows to listen to...I have the first night and from what I can tell its much better.....seriously wtf is up with that setlist...10 songs?????? and in a crap order at that, doesn't flow IMO

    I love the bootleg of the show, and every now and then I'll watch the DVD but the abbreviated form of it plus the order, like you say, doesn't do much for me. I mean, my favourite song of it is IWF, but I mean I'd watch it a hell of a lot more often if they'd just put the whole show on there. Electric Co., WTSHNN, The Fly, Zoo Station...argh. I mean, Beautiful Day's not my favourite live song but if I remember rightly, that's not on there either as is Miracle Drug. I think your first sentence pretty much summed it up mate!

    exactly! I was dying, and still am, to see a proper stadium version of Miracle Drug with the trippy DNA imagery...was so excited and then heart broken when it wasn't on the dvd.grrrrr...but yeah we could talk all day about the songs that aren't on it...wouldn't it make more sense to at least put 18 songs on it??
