1. Just for the records, my comment about it being released in November was a joke.
But the more I think about it, the more does it smell strange...

A fall 2009 release is still a possibility, though, at this point, wouldn't you think?

Yeah, what do you suspect is the real reason behind this delay?

Bono left his voice behind on Kilimanjaro...

Of course it's possible but unlikely imo. I would think that the Single will be released in January (" But early next year people will be able to start hearing what we’ve been doing") the album later in the year...

At the end of July, Lillywhite said that the new album has "blown him away" - now he seems to be part of the working crew. McG has hinted on an autumn release, other sources, too - releasing the U2.com videos that early if you plan the release for 2009 doesn't make sense.

To me that looks like they're not satisfied with what they have so far, the selection of songs, the songs, whatever... That's the impression I have when I read between the lines and keep in mind what Edge said.
It might also have something to do with the release strategy (waiting for the (RED)-platform?)

    But that's just my speculation.

  5. I'm a bit confused with this news. We heard of some songs like Get On Your Boots. Now there are like 50-60 songs. About twelve songs will make it to the album + one bonus track + 2 a 3 B-sides for the singles. That can mean that we have no Get On Your Boots on the album but something different.

We had tracklists all listed out, maybe we should erase them and wait for new rumours because there are so many new songs. Or does they have the same problem as with HTDAAB? I hope not, because then we get -again- an a bit overproduced album.

Well, let's wait a few monts. It will be good.

Edit: while I was writing this, yeah wrote a bit the same. Thank you

Parts of some sort of video were also shot in Spain in July. Catherine Owens was spotted around June at HQ. Everything did seem to be adding up, until now. Even the RED music store is launching this month.

I think I agree with you on their seeming dissatisfaction of the music. But if they wait another full year and two months to release the material they will have been working on for two and a half years--plus all this Bono-talk--I see no reason why it shouldn't be the next JT or AB. If that's the timeline, and all we get is Bomb Part II--that's not just a disappointment, but I think a cause for some real anger from fans.
  7. To quote a wise old man from England:

if you ask a guy how many women he has slept with
if he says 6 then its really 3 (if a woman says 2 then its really 6)

    so if bono says 50-60
    then it probs 15-20

  8. Ahhhhh I see where you're getting at. I didn't come across anything about Bono saying 50-60 songs but I'll take your word for it. No wonder they've taken 4 years ...

Nah it won't be HTDAAB Part II. I think they know they can't do that.

The 50 to 60 songs quote is in the U2.com article from today. Funny thing is that last year in July Adam said they have recorded 30 to 40 songs already with Eno and Lanois. Does that make another 20 songs for the 12 months in between?
  11. i had a feeling U2 were working on a double album....dont care what y'all say. They want this to really be their best if they're delaying the album, especially after they said it was "done".

Im also pissed i have to wait longer...oh well
