1. Here's a thought: Palin wants abstinence-only sex ed (ie if you have sex your thing falls off and you die), and and wants to teach creation. I believe the law in the US restricts teaching theological stories in a public school for the 2nd bit. As for the first, I believe the words "BE RESPONSIBLE" aren't good enough, especially for her daughter.....

True, but she's "talkin' the talk" and "walkin' the walk." She's said her daughter is gonna have to marry this guy (who is evidently an idiot) and suck it up.

I hope to live in a world one day where the words be responsible are the guiding force behind teen sex. Teenagers have been having sex for years, we'll never stop it. I think people need to understand that there are responsibilities that come with sex--the possibility of having a child. I don't think it's too hard to just use a condom or contraceptives or the morning after pill, etc. Abortion is a gruesome and unethical solution to a problem that could have easily been avoided.

Maybe that's the religious zealot in me, and perhaps it is insane wishful thinking, but I believe in giving people responsibility in an attempt to challenge them and ultimately bring out the best, not the worst.

    exactly.....

anyone out there: any thoughts on her backing the teaching of creationism in public schools?

  4. I don't know her stance on it, but most people (i think?) who want creationism taught in public schools don't want it presented exclusively, but just as another theory in addition to the theories of evolution.

Let the record show that this actually is not what abstinence-only sex education is.

  5. lol....I was just being sarcastic folks!
  6. Bring on some real, meaningful debate between the two hopefuls I say!
  7. I think the VP debate will be incredibly interesting...

  8. Yeah but hopefully we can see some clear differences in opinion and policy well before then...IF the media do their jobs half-right and not fall suckers to the constant personal attacks and innuendos.
  9. I was just wondering: did any of you American notice something about your economic problems? Friends or family who got financial problems? People who had to move out their houses?
    Just wondering...

If they had not, they surely will notice in a few months.
