  2. I didn't know Bruce Ramus. He is the lightsman? Yeah it's a good gig, but the NYD performance is not that brilliant.

  8. the reasons i love this bootleg (apart from the fact it was the greatest day of my life!) are as follows:


    the band were seriously tight - there are pretty much no mistakes at all

    bonos voice was on top form (listen to new yrs day - he sings like it's 1983!)

    they seemed to be having a great time and the general atmosphere is amazing

    the heavy songs are super evil sounding (listen to the start of bullet & HMTMKMKM -they will blow your face off)

    the version of MW is the best i've heard and my all time favourite version - the george harrison outro works SOOOOO well

    rain is amazing - nice guitar solo

    discotheque has whole lotta love at the end (i know this was done quite a lot but sounds wicked here)

    velvet dress has an extra verse




    having spent the last day listening to the audience version which i just acquired (thanks gmc ) i have to say the broadcast version is the one to download if you haven't already - they are both great and the audience version doesn't have the voiceover edit outs but the sound quality of the broadcast version is just so good and powerful.

    if you haven't got it GET IT! -it is the best popmart show i have heard for sound quality and performance and i'm honestly saying that in a totally unbiased way (i've played it to other people and they all also said it was easily the best they had heard)

    but saying that i have only heard about 15 or so popmart bootlegs so can anyone recommend any other shows that are on the same level ??

    Interesting. It kind of looks like they just set the stage up in the middle of an open field.
