1. but what would be the point of changing the video then. Seems pointless. What is soo much better about the parts that are stuck in from the other show? Unless there was some technical fault.

Man, it's really about time that we're in fall 2008/09 to talk about the new Album rather than these peanuts.

That my friend you should ask Hamish and U2. Maybe someone did a bad face, one could see Bono's fat pinky ass, whatever...
  4. no shots of the sky? those shots can definatley be blamed on lighting but concert lights cant change the colour of the sky as shown in the Slane shots

Sorry, none of the amateur filmers were on stage to shoot the sky in the background.
  6. i'm being so picky because I don't want to believe that footage from both shows was used on the Slane dvd. That puts me off and means Sydney will top my dvd list

Actually Sydney is better, any Zoo TV stuff easily beats that Elevation thingy.

But why would it change your preferences? You didn't even notice it before...
The 2nd shot you provided is from another perspective, one could give you 10 good reasons why the sky looks different from there... BeLIEve.

  8. What one doesn't know dnt hurt em. Slane was the DVD that lit my U2 fire etc and i've always held it closer to heart than Sydney. Both my parents were at both Slane shows and I remember their stories of the show when they got back. Maybe thats why. I just know U2 are thee best band to record a single show. I hate that the directors feel the need to do multiple recordings. I understand dummy runs but id wish they only released footage from a single show

It's not only the directors. It's the band, too. That's the reason, why no full Milan show was released, btw. Power failure during the first night and no additional material for the first 35 minutes or so.

SBS from the DVD of Slane I to keep the discussion going, look at the sky :

  10. its a touchy one. would you say its conclusive that footage from 2 nights was used. definatley too much varying in the sky for me to think its footage from one night
  11. Please don't limitate to SBS, take a look to Until The End Of The World, there is where you really notice the difference. I'll upload 2 pics in a few minutes.

I would also like that only 1 night footage was used, but I'm realistic, and I know it's not true. But that's a decission of Mr. Hamish Hamilton, not a decission of the band...

    How do you know?
