    Performance

    I liked it. Even though I didn't enjoy Elevation at all (with such a rough beggining, and such a extremely rough -actually a recording mistake- ending), the rest of the bootleg was absolutely enjoyable...

    The Fly, Stuck In A Moment, Gone, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Streets and WOWY were fantastic. Bono lacked some strenght on his voice but nevertheless the overall performance was very good.

    The absolute highlights for me were Until The End Of The World, Discoteque and Kite. When the corwd recognised UTEOTW they went absolutely nuts!! They sung along to every word, and the band realised it and enjoyed themselves playing it. The slow part was awesome. Regarding Discoteque, it was the first time (and probably the only one!) I've heard the audience singing along to Discoteque!! The snippets weree great too, love the Staring At The Sun one... Since I first heard it, in 2001-04-20 San Jose, I've loved that snippet into Discoteque. Awesome. And Kite was damn moving and emotional due to the recent Bob's passing away... The intro was just... wow... wordless.


    Audience

    The best feature of the bootleg. Glaswegians crowds are always great, dunno why. Boston and Glasgow are specially enthusiastic with U2, never knew why, really... They sung along (even to some "strange" songs like Stuck In A Moment or Discoteque!!). 5/5


    Sound

    It's not the best audience I've heard, that's true. But it's not the worst one, either. It's a true Three Stars recording. The only thing I didn't like (apart from some members of the audience talking waaaay tooooo muuuuch between songs) was the equalizating of the bootleg. Bass were too low (Adam is sometimes non hearable at all), and trebles were FUCKING LOUD!! I had to low down the whole volume two or three times because of the annoying trebles! Specially during Elevation, I Will Follow and Bad... OMG! Apart from that, sound was just OK. Prominent crowd (even tho I like it, you all know..) and hearable band. Just OK. 3/5.


    Overall

    Not great, not bad. Just a FINE Elevation gig. Recommendable if you simply like the (aweesome) setlist and you like that sing-along crowds. As someone said before, you should spend a Rapidshare download slot IF you have all the must-have Elevation shows (San Jose, Slane, South Bend, Miamis, Cleveland, New Yorks and so), you will enjoy it. Overall? 3,5 over 5, or 7 over 10.

    Performance

    The band were good, not at their best though. Discothèque was a treat. Also hearing Gone and the Fly in the same show was fun to hear. I Will Follow just doesn't work in the middle of the set IMO. Bono is really emotional here, as heard during Gone, Kite, Stay and the Fly. I also see why the Fly was dropped. Bono thought of Bob as his shining star, and now there was darkness, he was lost emotionally.

    Sound + Audience

    A beauty for an aud. It didn't take away from the show for me at all. Glad to hear the audience singing along too. I like that in a show.

    Highlights + Lowlights

    The crowd singing their hearts out. They got an A. The Fly was great, as always. IWF didn't work for me. Out of Control worked much better for the tour IMO. Slane and the 4th Boston show from leg 1 are prime examples.

    Overall

    3.5/5. Enjoyable set, very good show. A very emotional one as well. It won't stay on my iPod, but will stay on my comp because it's a good one.

    Also, with this show my favorite tour has become Elevation.

    That's interesting because I always associated the dropping of the Fly during Elevation with 9/11, not necessarily Bob's death.

    And we're going to have to disagree on IWF. I felt that it was at close to its best during this tour, not as good as Popmart, but still pretty good.

    I know I wasn't on the BRT for this week (save in spirit!) but I just wanted to throw my thoughts in - I never associated the dropping of the Fly with Bob's passing, but I can see where that idea comes from. I wondered whether it was more to do with the fact that they weren't happy with the setup they had on Elevation (think about Bono's quote in U2 by U2, "it took us 12 years [or something] to get that right), but it's an interesting theory, as is the clash with 9/11. I'm also a big advocate of Elevation/Vertigo renditions of IWF, I just think they're uber, although I love watching the Paris and UABRS DVDs and seeing Adam sing with everyone else, but Aussie mate, I can't agree about PopMart versions being better...but that's just my opinion!

    I guess I sort of assumed that the boys felt the Fly's lyrics were a bit too dark and cynical in a post 9/11 climate and so they went with What's Going On which more suited the times.

    And I agree with Bono's quote - never really got into the Fly live during Zoo but it completely rocked the house during Elevation.

    Popmart IWF was just completely awesome. The ultra fast pace and Bono going a bit nuts just topped it for me.

    And mate don't worry, your two cents worth is always welcome here.

    As for others, we are still awaiting your reviews.

    To be honest, I love the Fly in all its forms, each era has its bonuses and negatives for me (although I don't agree with Bono - as he was alluding to - that the Vertigo format was any better than ZooTV or Elevation...). Elevation and ZooTV both have elements of the album version (albeit with the former, it's in a different key) but with Vertigo, they turned it into more of a hard rock tune and I reckon it came out alright - can't decide which is my favourite though, I'm having a bit of an Elevation phase anyway, and hence why I'm irrirated to have missed out on Sam's BRT choice, so I'd probably call that my favourite for now...

    I used to too about the fly...but when I realized the lyrics had some meaning like that...it kinda hit me with relating my situation last may to bono's

    It was good...but to me, it's a stadium rock song of some sort. But also I take into account the first live version I heard was from the milan bonus tracks from u218
