I booked that as U2.com release for this year since it came out and would be fine with it.
But I could use the same argument, that is used against the "DVD-rip" releases: The mysterious die hard fans have the audio already. And they have 2 of the shows that were used in the movie in broadcast quality. Unique performances, no pieces sliced together.
  2. I have the bootleg and the audio-dvd rip.... I want U23D audio, I wanna hear that intro of the Fly again...
  3. so it's going to be a rip of UABRS?
  4. Wikipedia is hardly reliable.

Does it make much sense with UABRS CD just being remastered? I know it's only 2 songs on there from Red Rocks, but even so?

Ah well, we'll wait and see

It's not the same...the audio that's around from the movie is shit quality, and for the bootlegs...well, I want to have the "sliced together" version too

Sao Paulo audio is fecking brilliant in lossless.

I don't think U2.com are going to surprise us. We're gonna have to make do with whatever they think our subscription is worth and at the end of the day, if it's shit, flog it on ebay for 50 quid

I think Ali meant the bootlegged audio from U23D itself. Which is shit.

And Sao Paulo is not, agreed

  8. bootlegged audio from u23d? never heard of it. i still don't understand how it's possible that we dont have a rip off or something... someone (cinema staff) could have smuggled it out of the cinema...

  9. Right, sorry if it's unclear...

Did a DVD-rip of ZooTV or Slane Castle make much sense?

I can understand that it's hard sometimes to find something suitable, but at least have them make some variation in their releases. That can't be so hard can it.

I just meant in the sense that there's a representative CD of the era out there already. At least ZooTV and Slane are the only official CD representations of their eras live.

But no, they weren't very original.
