1. There are a lot of bootlegs that have a low sound quality rating but interesting set lists or rare songs. My question is: Is it very likely that if U2Start does not provide it, there is no higher quality bootleg available anywhere of that show, or could looking around be worthwhile? If so, please recommend other sites that may have those bootlegs.

For bootlegs with a very low quality it's very likely (99%) that those just have one recording available. We upgrade bootlegs every week (see the upgrades section), so it's very unlikely that another website has more and better sources for a lot of bootlegs.

Pity for you, it doesn't get much better

    Good explanation, Remy
  4. And if you come across better sources for any of our bootlegs, feel free to share it with us.
  5. you are funny. We try to have the best source for every show with multiple sources. Simple as that. If it sounds crap then try another. Until better sources of 'crap' shows pop up then we willl gladly share.

If you find another site with more bootlegs then give us a shout.

I agree. I don't think you'll find many sites out there with multiple sources out there. Most sites just use the soundboard (if there is one), when really there may be some good audiences of the same show.
  7. I'm not complaining, I think this site is awesome. I am worried though that a lot of great performances are going un-noticed and rendered pretty much worthless because of their poor sound quality. It's an outright shame that many versions of songs that are actually the best ones seem to only exist in low quality.

    Thanks for your reply.

we can only be grateful that we have any sort of recording from some gigs, no matter how crap it sounds

  9. You've got a point considering it must be damn hard finding recordings from virtually every single U2 performance in history in the first place. Nevertheless, it's still a shame .

We can't expect crystal clear boots from every gig. But I agree, there might be a blistering Streets somewhere we don't know of.
  11. Looking around for alternative sources is always worthwhile. Especially for Vertigo and Elevation there's quite a bunch of shows with multiple recordings.
Don't limit your search to the internet only, though.
  12. I have to admit there is one specific bootleg I would really like to have: The complete 1992-09-09 show from pontiac, michigan. It's a shame (and a wonder) that about half the show is missing. Does anyone know why only a part of it is recorded, and yet in such excellent quality?
