1. If you convert this to mp3, will it have a better sound quality than the lossy bootleg we already own?

Did I miss something in the lineage Silver CD -> $lossless-codec?

There is a DAE from SIlvers to a lossless-codec in both cases, right?

You have converted the shn to apple lossless. I'd just rather have the documented bootleg lineage and file format on here and that is shn.

  3. Maybe marginally depending on bitrate and your ears.

No, I haven't converted the shn to apple lossless.
    Got this from u2unes:

Lineage: Silver CD > CDR(1) > iTunes (ALE)

    e.g.: 1-13 Bad.m4a <ITUNES_CDDB_IDS> : 21+4B946FFE7EA7F5E4B30BDA1FD5AB333A+1161856

So a Silver Disc has been converted via iTunes directly to apple lossless. I cannot see an "SHN" step there. Can you? And believe me: iTunes doesn't "speak" shn

What reference is your source from?

Probably U2torrents. Do they even accept Apple lossless there?

  6. Mine is from the traders den. Ive never saw apple lossless on U2torrents. I made the assumption that hodels was the same source converted to apple. What is the argument here?
  7. petition to have "the times they are a changing" added to the site since the official release (from which I obtained) isn't there (unless it is, I'm very unsure if it was officially released or not)

somebody please correct me if I'm wrong here, because after listening to a youtube video of audio of the full concert (skipping to that particular song) it definitely does exist as well as this site and u2gigs confirming it was played, so I can't be dreaming. so i'm hoping i'm wrong here and that it was included in the official release...or that by some technicality it wouldn't be allowed on the site. it just seems like a huge grey area to me, but hey, it's me we're talking about here haha

Everything on Dec 31, 1989, is not allowed to be posted on U2start. We've had some problems with this in the past, and while indeed this is a huge grey area, I don't want to take any risk there

Totally understandable! Thank you for the clarification!
