1. Robbie Willliams played Phoenix Park and Knebworth in the same year.I don't think he played Slane that year.Me Ma went to Phoenix Park.........

R.E.M., as much as I love them, couldn't even fill any venue on their amazing Accelerate tour, so I don't see them fill Slane unless it's their only stop after a new release.

THE album of 2008 belongs to someone else, but that's another topic. Anyway, they just aren't big enough (yet)

Coldplay would be cool, but chances are that they don't feel like doing more shows after a year on tour. Who knows if they weren't asked.

U2 doesn't even know when they have a record out, so it seems pretty risky for them to agree on playing Slane.

Really? Didn't know that, in that case you're probably right (about REM)

Okay, Keane isn't that big yet, but U2 headlined when they had 3 albums, right? I can't say that U2 was more famous back then than Keane is now...

I think Chris Martin would immediately grab the chance to headline Slane...

    Okay, U2 is too risky

    Is Queen an option?

    They were Irish

  6. lol...I didn't meant it that way
Stereophonics are more popular, so they usually should get more attention than Travis...

    I got it now...

    Overlooked that detail...

U2 did not headline after 3 albums. They played there 1981 and didn't headline.

Coldplay isn't just Chris, though... That and the nearly confirmation on Knebworth...

  8. they would have in 83 had it not been moved to Phoenix. Slane was called off that year and the Phoenix park concerts held instead

My mistake; they headlined in 1983, but the Slane concert wasn't held at Slane...

The other fellas would like to play Slane too...
But is Knebworth on the same day or...?
