1. Well, today it's 07-07-07. Live Earth is all around the world. What do you think about these shows? I think it's, as Muse already said, a bit hypocrite. The show is said to be against pollution of the environment, but these shows DO pollute the environment That's a bit strange. Of course the idea of these concerts is good, but I think it won't make much sense on this way.

Any way, talk about the concerts, which acts are you really going to watch? I'm looking forward to RHCP and Foo Fighters. Must be good!
  2. I think the concert already was a success before it started. Even if presales were a desaster. The climate theme is all over the news, people talk about it, awareness is raised. The whole concert concept doesn't really convince me, though. High ticket prices, artists flying in, artists supposedly paid...

Nevertheless I'm looking forward to watch the sets of the Pumpkins, the Police, Roger Waters, Kanye West, Mando Diao, the Beastie Boys (probably 'Sabotage'/'So What'cha Want'/'Sure Shot'/'Intergalatic'/'Off The Grid'), Snow Patrol ('Open Your Eyes'/'Shut Your Eyes'/'Chasing Cars') and the Foo Fighters ('Best Of You'/'All My Life'/'My Hero'/'Everlong').
  3. First of all I think that a great concert like Live Earth isn't the right way to save the planet at all. Also Live Earth is a matter of business and money for me. Probabily it will help the environment in some ways, but not as much as they pretend to do. They talk about echology to common people, but it's not common people who have to save the planet! Look at factories, industrial production,... Can you say why, among the superb and continous scientific discovers, nobody had discovered any f**ked car which doesn't need oil to travel??? It's sounds incredible to me! But then I understand... I understand that those who can really save our planet are the same which are distroying it with their absurd policies which care about only money. Common people can't do anything if first the "owners" of Earth don't begin to do something. That's reality, according to me.

The situation in the place in which I live is even worse. I live in the south of Italy, in a district called Campania. Campania's rubbish problems are known everywhere here in Italy. It's become a national problem. I'll try to explain it shortly: here in Campania there is a criminal association called Camorra, which has contacts with all the world and which has his own mambers also in the Italian political system. Camorra rules drug trade (the greatest in the world - Neaples, the capital of Campania, is considered the world capital of drug), other illegal activities of all kinds, the last but not the least it rules rubbish TRADE. Yes, here in Campania there is not the DRAINING of rubbish, but the TRADE. As the state had given the administration of the rubbish draining to private companies, here everybody does what he wants. These companies, all owned and controlled by Camorra, are free to make their f**king rubbish trade. As a consequence, in Campania there's not any differentiated harvesting and rubbish is made everyday unrecyclable, with bad consequences for environment. And all this is just for money! So us people of Campania can't do really anything to save environment, because even if we try to make differentiated harvesting, then Camorra re-mixes all differentiated rubbish and makes it unrecyclable.

Sorry if I took so long space, but I need to give this problem a better result.

  4. First and for all, i'm totally convinced that earth is warming up and that we really need to do something against it !!
Though i don't think the concerts are a good idea because the concerts AREN'T good for the environment... Flights for the artists, the lights and stage, people coming to there with the car (you know that not all people will go with the bus as Gore wants...) all the garbage people make....

+ There is no clear objective... with Live Aid, the artists asked for money, which was very clear, but i don't think all the people will be more attentive about the global warming... I think most of the people just see a chance to see a lot of artists in 1 show...

+ Actually only in America and Europe it's hot news, i asure you people from Asia, Africa, Middle-East or South-America totally aren't interested in the warming...

Last : i think U2 made the good dicission with no performing at this show, they know they have spilled (and still spill) too much energy...
  5. All that talk about climat and stuff. Ofcourse we have to be careful with our resources, but they will end anyway. It's time for technological solutions. Live Earth are great concerts, but it's not the way to solve the problem. And it is indeed very hypocrite.
  6. Damn Snow Patrol was awesome!! Also Keane did a good job finishing with Bedshaped. And RHCP was a highlight too.
  7. i wanted U2 too perform tho.... it would have been awesome if they would have debuted some new stuff from the Fez sessions

It would be hypocrite if they played there....
  9. Foo Fighters were amazing, as expected. However, i dont agree with these live earth concerts. You must be living under a rock to be unaware of the situation and its inevitable effects.

The presenters of live earth in london are continuosly taking the piss out of the cause, and the bands and people who turned up all say they are doing it to see other bands and to play at wembley. Also, it takes the shine off the original live aid and live 8 concerts.

Fez sessions? what are these. U2 havent come up with a name for their upcoming album have they?
