Trues he's the first Black president but so what, will it make him a better president? I think no so jot it down in the history books and lets see him deliver. Too much hype for the man to get around I reckon.

    Exactly what I think.

Last night I was eating Stephen Colbert's "Americone Dream" ice cream lol Was very yummy
I didn't hear about the dog thing, but their dog is really small, so anyone complaining about it biting them is pretty pathetic lol

    LOL!

EXACTLY. His victory will give an excellent short-term boost to Americans' esteem but I think one day we are going to regret electing someone who had been a Senator for less than four years (who spent 2 of those years campaiging). The Obama euphoria will eventually subside.

John, war is over, we don't need your help! America's making war on itself.

While fighting all over the world, America's army is mostly making war on itself. While their society is tearing apart, they spend billions of dollars for - killing.

More than Obama's victory, this is victory of America we all know from stories or films. This is victory of America Bono was impressed with when he saw it for the first time. And more than anything, this is victory of American people who don't want wars and guns in their pockets, American people that wants their dreams back.

How is America making war on itself? How is our society being torn apart? And we don't spend billions of dollars a year on killing--we spend billions on minimizing terrorist threats, so that ourselves AND the civilized world at large don't have to live in fear. Don't mind us doing what you can't.

By the way, Bono's Bullet snippet was made BEFORE 9/11.

  5. You could very well be right. He needed "his Obama," and may have rushed in the decision making process to select a running mate. Everyone that lives here in New York hates her.

I personally like her as a choice, but understand why many didn't. I got an email the day after he picked her from someone, telling me "McCain killed himself with his choice."

Not that Joe Biden is any better, but Obama compensates for that.

  6. Going off on a different tangent here but, corporate companies such as big tobacco killing the masses. That's my quick two cents, more to come.

In one respect, I agree - I don't see how the US is making war on itself per se, but on that note, all this stuff about minimising terrorist threats...

...you say that, but despite all these measures you refer to, terrorists still carry out terrorist activities - unfortunately, there always has been and there always will be. There will always be that fear, it's a case of how much we're gonna let that fear ruin our lives. I don't mean to play down state efforts to prevent terrorist action (the less likely it is, the better for sure in so far as I'm quite keen to live beyond my current 18 years lol), but at the end of the day I'm more likely to get run over in the street tomorrow than killed by a terrorist bomb etc.

Yeah, he wanted to make it so that HIS campaign would be making history too, but there are plenty of other women he could have picked.
And I really am not a big fan of Joe Biden, he sort of seems like he has no spine, but he is a politician after all.

I think that the whole America making war on itself thing means to show how divided we are as a country, we're split down the middle, and I really don't like that. I'm a Democrat, but I have no problems with Republicans, they're good people too(And I know Republicans who feel the same way about Democrats), for instance John McCain: I don't necessarily agree with his views, but he seems like a good person, and he's done good things for our country. But not all Democrats feel that way, and not all Republicans feel that way, so, as a result, we're cut into two Americas. It shouldn't be this way, but America is at war with itself. And some wars are almost impossible to end.
