    Umm...as far as I know (again), we are following the same God...the only difference is that the christians consider Jesus Christ to be god or god's son or....

    The Christians consider Jesus to be God and God's Son. Islamic and Jewsih faiths both teach that Jesus was nothing more than a prophet or teacher. Also, I dont think that Jewish or Muslim tradition follows any of the New Testament....while Christianity considers it a major part of the faith.

    Basically, one of them say that Jesus is God, while the other two say that Jesus isnt God.
    Who God is or isnt is pretty much the foundation of any religion....


    By pointing at the 3 symbols on the headband, I always interpereted Bono's statement to be that all 3 faiths should be able to disagree and still get along with each other.....in a word, coexist....

    But yes killing in defense of yourself or someone else doesn't break the above commandment.

    Secondly, the Jews,Christians and Muslims all have the same God, the God of Abraham. (hence the term Abrahamic religion). They have different names & beliefs, but it is essentially the same God. Their views on Jesus don't change this fact. It's like how different people can have different views of the same person.

    Thirdly if you consider the New Testament and Jesus to be a major part of your faith, you might want to agree with his teachings... I can't recall him being a supporter of the death penalty and killing.

    They DO follow the same god. I studied more then those 3 religions, read few Hinduistic books, read about Budism... Christianity is just more commercial, nothing more.

    I asked which one as a trick question...because often people say that they listen to them because they're Christian band. They're not even religious band, they're about FAITH, not religion. Y*hw*h, not God, Buddha, Vishnu, Allah etc...

    I see we went from guns to religion. Question is of course: is religion also politics?

    IMHO too much country's let themselve lead by self-made religions. God didn't create human, human created God. I don't believe there would be a God/Yahweh/Buddah/Allah/whatever he is called who tells people to blow themselves and they get 100 virgins in heaven as reward. I don't believe in a religion which keeps telling that we were from Adam & Eva and which says that sex is for devil people. I don't believe in a religion which says the Moses held his stick over an ocean and it split open. And such, IMO insane, ideas come into politics. You can't rule a country on a 1000-year old book. You can't rule a country on a few bed time story's. You can't rule the world on things which might have happened ages ago. Believing in something is okay, but the world religions make too much up...

I'm not agnostic at all I believe there IS a God (even though I don't see him as an old man with long, white beard, who seats in a cloud and shouts things and throws rays, got me? ), and agnostics say that we cannot know if there is or there isn't any god. That's the difference. Said that, I would like to clarify that the Bible (or at least the Old Test.), is just another SciFi book for me, I mean, it isn't true, at least 90%. The facts of course happened, there were great men called Jesus Christ, Isaac, Abraham, etc, etc... But i simply don't believe they spoke to God, brought clouds to the sky and opened the seas... But after all, I DO believe in some God.

    I agree with you. Christian Church is today just another profit organization.

    While it would be very convenient to believe in no God, and let's face it it would.
    I couldn't care less if there was no God (you could do anything you want!).

    Unfortunately death kind of stuffs things up. Because if there is no God, then there is nothing after death, nothing, you cease to exist. Is that like the time between falling asleep and waking up? except you don't dream and you don't wake up...ever.

    What would you feel or think after you die? you wouldn't feel or think! That's a mindblowing concept...

    I cannot imagine what it would be like to not exist, and the unimaginable is truly terrifying.
    I would rather go to hell, than not exist.

    Atheists who are unafraid of death are either very, very brave, or have not really thought about what being dead actually entails.

    I'm not brave enough to believe in that kind of a reality, where in the end everything is ultimately futile. Are you?
