    BTW The biggest mistake they've ever made was ISHFWILF on R&H. A big shame.

    And SIAMYCGOO. It's pretty cool live, but I just can't get through the album version.

    SYCMIOYO. The ending is beautiful, but, even tough I really want to, it doesn't get me.

    Love Is Blindness. The solo is great....but the rest of the song

    IYWTVD (Velvet dress) It still sounds like one very very long snippet to me...


    I guess I have a few disagreements here . The Joshua Tree Era horrible? Can you at least give them a little credit. I mean, the mere fact that the music world credits U2 for making one of the top 50 greatest records ever is probably a sign that the Joshua Tree is at least a good album. I mean, I prefer the Achtung/Zooropa stuff, but the Joshua Tree is such a significant album. there is so much more to say, but I'll leave it at that.

    ISHFWILF on R&H became what the song was written to be: a gospel song. They put that song behind a gospel choir, and it was given the soul that it was intended to have. It got taken to the church. It's not a rock 'n' roll song. It's a gospel song. On R&H it has all the soul in the world, and we know that the goal is soul.

    Love is Blindness is one of the most honest songs Bono has ever penned. It's also one of the most complex and complete. It takes the listener on a journey, a struggle. It hurts to listen to taht song, and it makes you feel what is happening, and when you understand what was happening with the Edge when that song was being written, it takes on a whole new meaning. There is so much going on there.

    Just a few ideas... take them or leave them.

    Well...I definitely wanna like the JT-era, but I simply can't lol...
    For some reason I find Bono's voice a bit forced there and the entire AMERICA-stuff is just horrible.
    And I really don't like gospel; I agree with you that ISHWILF is a real gospel song, that's why I've never liked it.

    And the same for LIB: It's a great song, but for some reason I usually quit listening that one half way. As said: the solo is painful beauty but the rest of the song is not so much IMO...


  5. But they made 11 other very, very good songs in 1991 (and some so-so demo tapes), so it makes up for that one terrible song, and why it will never be a flawless album. On the other hand, The Joshua Tree has no weak songs (to me), so therefore it is an album with 11 good songs, and is a flawless album, and even today stands up as being something brilliant.
  6. Stuck In A Moment... very good song on the album but as played on Slane Castle.... Bono annoys me there...
  7. Bullet the blue sky -- I know it's epic for most fans, but it just doesn't work for me.

    Running to stand still -- I'm just about to begin to like it. a bit. not much. don't know why.

    Zoo Station -- I always skip it. I can't stand it.

  9. Most of Pop. mainly the album versions. The tour had some good moments though. Other that that, Elvis Presely, and America.
