1. when played live, yes it is. The only versions I can tolerate are the studio version and Mexico City. Don't get me started on the version with Mary J. Blige...
  2. I can't like the gospel version of ISHFWILF, Trip Trough Your Wires and the most of Pop.....Mofo just makes me feel sick but I do realise it's awesome....

that one is completely crap crap crap crap crap crap crap........

It's the only U2-song they play at my work...

EDIT: Oh, and sometimes the Sweetest Thing

  4. aw come on...you gotta love Bono's rocking guitar playing on the video
  5. Am I the only one that LOVES (and I don't say "like"... I say LOVE ) the (complete) album version of New Year's Day ??

  6. Nope, you're not the only one. I absolutely love it. And I mean, LOOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEE it. lol
  7. I quite like One lol...and that includes the Mary J. Blige version (although the MSG show rendition - 8th of October? - where she comes onstage, I admit, that's a stinker lol...). I'm not talking to Jana for bringing WGRYWH into the mix, but I guess no one's perfect

To be honest, there are a few songs from some of the albums that I can't bring myself to really love, but it's not that important to me, 'cause I still listen to them anyway (and I can't be arsed to go through and list them!).
  8. If the OP thinks Miss Sarajevo is hard to listen to, he obviously hasn't heard songs like Miami, or Elvis Presley and America, and most of October.

The four songs he listed are not even remotely the worst songs the band has done.

But if he's talking about songs that most people/ the media rate as U2 classics, then for me it would have to be Pride, perhaps when it came out in 1985 it was good, but these days it just sounds overblown and melodramatic (i even prefer the minimalistic MLK over it). And the album version of Elevation, I don't mind the Tomb Raider mix. And I don't really care that much for I Will Follow, its sounds a bit too raw and adolescent these days. However Party Girl is also raw and adolescent but it works better, cause it's a fun song.

I don't get why everyone likes One Tree Hill and Red Hill Mining Town, they're OK, but definitely not among the top 6 songs from JT.

And I cannot get why people don't like One ( I hate the MJB version though). It has some of the best lyrics they've ever written.

I'm not saying they are bad songs. I would not list them in a category of the worst U2 songs. I do, however, love October and Miami as well. I think Pop is brilliant... all of it.

All I was saying is that I want to like them, I just haven't found a way yet. And I gave a few reasons why I find them hard to get into. I wasn't saying they were bad songs though. I'm not sure if U2 has a bad song...

*hack hack cough cough*Grace*cough hack cough*

    ...

It's the only song I actually can't bring myself to bother listening to. The ideas in the lyrics and the message of the song really speak out to me, but as a song itself, god help us...

    There's some stinkers on October....

I add "Pride" to the list. I just can't stand it anymore.
