    I don't think Yellow is the best Coldplay song, and are we really putting Muse on the list, with all their wailing. Radio Nowhere is a bit new to represent someone with a career like Springsteen's. I know Walk On is popular with Americans, but I don't think it's good enough to be on that list, we only have 6 spaces for U2 songs.

    And if we're including R.E.M. it has to be their signature song; Losing My Religion.

    Yeah, Yellow is not their best song, but I'm afraid that Viva La Vida wouldn't work as well in the list. I chose Radio Nowhere simply because I thought it followed Streets well, but I think that Born to Run or Badlands could work in it's place And you don't like Muse That's okay, they're good if you ask me you should post a list what would you put on it?


  3. It doesn't matter ,if we want to be in with a chance on UK radio, we need to include the Killers. You just need to look at the UK reviews of 'Day & Age' to see where they stand in the Brit music scene. Their songs are constantly used in Brit TV shows as well, they have become part of the post 2004 culture in the UK, and probably more relevant than the likes of even Bob Dylan for this Rock Off thing.

    And if we're putting the likes of Muse on the list, we have to include the Killers.
    Muse are ok, but they're not as mainstream or have the same penchant for melody that the Killers do.
    And if Viva La Vida doesn't work (I fail to see why, though) what about Violet Hill, Fix You, The Scientist, Clocks etc.

    Yeah, but this thing isn't about kissing the Brits butts, it's supposed to reflect our forum's musical tastes and while I love The Killers, I just don't know how many people agree with me, that's all

    Muse: Not really that mainstream, but they're a great band IMO and it worked well on my playlist
    Viva La Vida: It's one of my favorite songs and albums this year, but when making my playlist, it just didn't seem to work well to me.
    Killers/Sucking up to the Brits: Yes, it pretty much is about sucking up to the people in charge, and I'd rather not do that, but that's me
    You can make a playlist that reflects you're tastes, y'know
  6. no offense to those to love clocks (I do as well) but it wouldn't go well. yellow is much more of a rocker. gpasumf was my 2nd choice, but yellow rocks harder.

    "That's Entertainment" or "Going Undergound" by the Jam. Every Brit loves the Jam. Usually.
    What about the The Arctic Monkeys? BOWIE, DEFINITELY!

  10. Nothing wrong with Muse dear boy, although I agree about Yellow - I don't know what all this is in aid of, but if you want a signature Coldplay song I'd throw either Clocks or Fix You that way forward

    I still think their 2 best songs (Streets & The Fly)
    2 well-known hits (WOWY, One or BD, Pride would work too) (And why BD? Because it's representive for the modern U2)
    2 fan favorites (Kite, Bad, New Years Day or Out Of Control)
