1. October
  2. I'm guessing that by the comments on this thread that a lot of you guys are a bit young !?!?!?!

Me ,I'm an aul lad ,and can't understand anyone disliking October .I've lived through the release of every U2 album and single ,I remember the hype that surrounded them whenever they came to cork to play sell out gigs before they ever sold out Dublin venues and for me its one of the most important pieces of work they've done.

My least favourite album would have to be ATYCLB...all the other albums I've listened to for over 20 years and not tired of them and nevere will ,yet this is a album I rarely play

By reading U2BYU2 and by listening to the early shows now I'm sure of how much I love the first era of the band! I finished to read about the birth of October just 15 minutes ago. It fascinated me a lot! I've just understood a lot of deep meanings of the October's songs which I hadn't understood before: first of all the real meaning of the album itself, October, the time when the trees are stripped bare and also humans feel bared and lost; the return of the theme of I Will Follow in the song Rejoice, so the links with the lost of the sense of familiar unity suffered by Bono and also by Larry in the late 70s; the simple but high aspiration to the God's help in the song Gloria.
If you ask me now, I have no least favourite albums of U2.

  4. All That You Can't Leave Behind , I rarely listen to it or I fell asleep

And my opinion on October is that, since I took the time to listen to it, I think this album is very good but I hated it because I didn't listen more than the 3 first seconds of the songs.

Lucky bastard. Ive always wished that I would have been born at a time where I could have followed U2 from scratch. I am a young lad indeed but I do rate their early stuff but I just can't connect with October in the way that I do with Boy or War. Tomorrow, Stranger In A Strange Land, Is That All and October are all U2 favourites of mine (period) but as an album it just doesn't do it for me.

Thank god U2 fans don't have to suffer through another one of...oh that's right. Zooropa. The hang over to the party that U2 wasn't invited to. Glad THAT phase is over

How can you not like Achtung Baby?
  7. well my least favorite album is HTDAAB
i don't know but it disappointed me somehow
this doesn't mean that i don't like it but when i compare it with the previous albums it's not that good for me

The only good songs on that album are:

-Tomorrow (still one of my favourites)
    -Gloria
    -October

    The rest are all fillers

Agreed. Except I do like I Fall Down. The opening part of Is That All is O.K. because it has the Cry riff.

yeah,I guess I am lucky in that sense, I've seen the band play concerts prior to the big stadium world group we know today. The Arcadia in Cork was where the legend was born in my opinion.I know the lads are dubs ,but they weren't as popular in Dublin as they were in Cork and believe it or not ,the same can be said about a lot of Irish bands.
I will say this on October, in my mind its the quintessential U2 album...lets put it this way ,If it wasn't for October ,you and me would currently be on a Chilli peppers or Foo Fighters message board chatting because there sure as hell wouldn't be a U2start cos there would be no U2
to me U2's earlier days are what made the band ..all the rest ,the Achtungs and Atomics and Zoo tv etc are all the success, ,but the foundations were built in Cork and Dublin on Boy and October ,built up with war and set in stone with Bloodred and Unforgetable. The band became a world success with Joshua but as a band October was one of the most important pieces of work they did
  10. Well I don't have least favourite album.
They are all great for me...
First I didn't like Pop songs like Mofo,Discotheque,Do You Feel Loved,Miami...
But recently I was listening all that songs and I started to like it.
And I think that October is very good album

It is my 3rd least favorite album, it's a good album, but I think it's too overrated by fans and non-fans... But everyone have its opinions
