  1. The washington version seems to be the best, but unfortunately bono missang "secret" at the beginning of the second verse, replacing it with "light-bulb", which is not supposed to be sung until the break at the end of the song.

    I've noticed how he always (as far as I've heard) sings "I had an opera in my head.... hanging over my head", repeating head instead of using bed the second time. Is this correct, or are there any versions when he actually sings bed?

    If anyone has any other recommendations than Washington, Dublin, Milan, London, and Sweden those are most welcome too.

  4. Listen closely to Dublin 1993-08-28:
    "You were an opera in my bed... your love was like a lightbulb, it just went over my head"

    I really think that Dublin, Washington and London are the best versions. London version is probably the best ever since Bono is in excellent voice there, and I like the fast tempo there. You may also check Zooropa Coppenhagen. Pretty good too.

    As I've stated before, Bono unfortunately says "light-bulb" instead of secret on the Washington version, but I think that's also one of the few performances in which he actually uses "bed" in the break.

    The sound actually is quite good there, if you boost high frequencies a little with EQ.

    As for the song itself, I think it's the best *power* version of this song, Bono sings it in a very strong and aggressive way, unlike subtle Zooropa versions.

    I will, though I believe Zooropa (Europe) includes London ^^.

    Edit: Naw you're obviously right. Zooropa is only the main leg of the European tour, and some prior legs (one at least) also include european shows.
  10. I always preferred Stockholm over Washington DC, the sound has more clarity. Perhaps the quality of the DC boot isn't as good.
