1. Hello members of the Round Table!

I know that I haven't been a part of the Round table since summer time, but I have had too much school work to take part in activities such as this. With my Winter vacation coming up, I will have time to take part in the next Round Table! I've realized that this one still has a few days, but I decided to post this before I forgot to lol.

    Nick

  2. My review is taking a while to form because my listening of the boot is taking a hell of a long time - remind me not to put myself down for IEM shows in future...it's an effort to get through each song in turn, really detracts from the listening experience for me I'm afraid.

    Performance (3 stars)

The third-leg of the Vertigo Tour seemed to be an experimental leg, with songs that hadn't been played for a good while recieving a dust-off and replay. A typical third-leg set with the highlights being Miss Sarajevo, Fast Cars, The Electric Co, The Fly, Discotheque and Miracle Drug.

Bono telling jokes when Edge had problems with his equipment was a bit of a laugh at the beginning of Yahweh, and the 'Edge From The Future' speech is always a cool little addition. Hearing Discotheque from the band that seems to have officially disowned Pop was interesting, and nice to see they gave it a good run.

    Audience (4 stars)

You don't hear them too much through an IEM recording, but they are audible at the end of some songs, and from that, are right into it. It makes you wonder what their reaction was when they heard Pop Muzik starting up.

    Sound (2 stars)

As aussiemofo has pointed out in his very detailed review, there seemed to be a lot of noise and static as well as some dead air. Either the sound recording equipment was utterly crap or bought from Wal-Mart. Not a good recording at all.

It's also an unfortunate fact that some songs were cut. Also, the vocals are way too prominent and sounds flat. If you truly want this show, the lossless is your best bet. The MP3 version is way too poor-sounding, and you will notice the difference.

    Overall...

While no means the best or one of the best late 2005 shows, it's a good listen (neither brilliant nor poor) and a keeper if you like IEM recordings. 3.5 stars.
  4. Review coming tomorrow. Sorry for the delay!

Certainly if last tour is any indication, but remember on Elevation, Pop was decently represented. I for one am hoping they can accommodate some more Pop songs next tour at the expense of perhaps a few AB songs.

They've re-worked Discotheque a treat and I could realistically see them doing the same treatment for Mofo, Gone, Staring, and Last Night...

I think I'm gonna have to disagree. Pop was well-represented on Elevation because it was their most previous album. We all expect to hear quite a few Vertigos probably COBL and SYCMIOYO on the next tour, because it's freshest in people's minds. If they had huge radio singles off of Pop, I'd expect to hear them, but...that's not really the case. Don't get me wrong, I'd go nuts if they blew the dust off of some of the Pop catalog, but I just don't see it happening.

Fair enough, but was your average concert-goer all that familiar with The First Time, Miss Sarajevo, The Ocean, even Electric Co. either?

I understand what you're saying though.

    Touche....

If any of the Pop songs come out, I hope they bring Mofo back.

And compared to those songs, with the average concert-goer in mind, would they actually even think much of them?

When it's my shot for the BRT picking, I've got something nobody has ever come up with, let alone even thought of worth doing - and worthwhile.

    Conspiracy of Hope

  11. Nope. It'd be the last thing you'd ever think of. But it is the oldest show we have here (I wonder if we can call it a show, technically).

    That's good, I think you're next!
