    Mummy 3 today

Both utterly forgettable and borderline unwatchable (certainly again). What's happened to Jet Li.........?
  3. 4 christmases

    Cyote Ugly
  4. Watched 'Wit Licht' (White Light in english). It's a dutch movie with Marco Borsato starring. He's a dutch singer AND some U2-people went to his latest concerts (the Wit Licht tour, promoting the album Wit Licht) to see the special effects.

The movie itself wass really touching. It was about child-soldiers in Africa. Marco Borsato is a friend of WarChild, an organisation that brings previous child-soldiers back into the society and learns them too play again, instead of killing...

  5. Quantum of Solace. I'm a great fan of the James Bond movies and I really liked this one
  6. Erm, films I watched recently...Iron Man (loved that, brilliant stuff), Talladega Nights (2nd time, it's definitely a Marmite movie, and I'm no fan of yeast extract...), The Incredible Hulk (the Edward Norton version - was ok, but I mean after a point I lost interest because it just too ridiculous) and The Mist, which I was really impressed with. Ok, the special effects at times weren't any great shakes but it was a really powerful film and I'd definitely watch it again.

Hmm, I'll still watch the former 'cause the DVD is sitting on my desk waiting to be viewed, but I totally agree about the Mummy 3 - I was more disappointed in that I loved the concept BUT they completely buggered it up; far too much in the way of a tradeoff for humour over a serious stab at a decent film. The first one still stands up as the best, the 2nd one they definitely started looking a bit more at laughs but found a worthy compromise, but the 3rd? How to tear a decent idea to shreds...
  7. Rattle and Hum
  8. Ichi The Killer (again). It still staggers me, no matter how many times I watch it. How on EARTH did this get made? I mean that in a good way, but Miike Takashi is clearly fucking nuts. And I mean THAT in a good way, too. There's extreme cinema and then there's Miike's output...
  9. Wall-E this morning, Jeremiah Johnson tonight.....

  10. I'm usually in agreement about that with the cartoons, but it was actually really good. Like Shrek or Toy Story in that there are a lot of jokes that probably whiz by the kids' heads, but us "adults" smirk and laugh at. Worth checking out if you get the chance.
