1. I don't think there's much to be said about the whole matter, personally - it's no secret that they didn't get on, just listen to the Leeds '97 broadcast bootleg during EBTTRT;

    "George Harrison thinks you shouldn't be here, he thinks we're all just [something I can't remember] and big fucking hats"
  2. Doesn't surprise me. I remember after watching the Anthology, he seemed like he regretted being a Beatle. George was just a different guy. If he did not like U2, oh well. I like them both. All Things Must Pass is my favorite Beatle solo album.

    I had somewhere a nice article about it... maybe I can find it.
  4. Just his opinion, nothing wrong with that.
  5. Yeah, George seemed pretty bitter about being a Beatle. But like John (and probably Paul and Ringo too, hell), I think George would get a bit jealous when a band would get close to being the 'Beatles of their day,' as U2 was in the late-80s/90s. I don't mind that George picked on Oasis, but obviously I'm not with him on U2. It's interesting, though, that although both George and Bono have the hearts in the same (right) place, they couldn't be more different as public entertainers.

    I think that any band has ever been close to be "Beatles of the day". Nobody has been as influential and as sucessful as the Beatles. I like U2 a lot but they don't come close to the Beatles.

  7. George is my favorite Beatle, always has been, he wrote my favorite song (Here Comes the Sun) so that he didn't like U2 really doesn't bother me. Now, if U2 didn't like Georgie, that may be a different story

    I think George just wanted to play music, and I don't think he really wanted any of the whole "Beatlemania" things that came with it, but that's me

    TRUE.
  10. Isn't George the Beatle no one could remember?
    Who cares about what he thinks, the Beatles were mainly out to make money anyway.
    Probably jealous as well.

    Influential and successful. I mean just compare live performances and you'll see who is better.
