In my honest opinion, The Beatles are a bit overrated. Don't get me wrong, they are a great band, and they do belong in history. But I think that they get just a bit too much attention. Honestly, I think that Coldplay are better than them . Just my two cents

I know some people really won't like this, but I have the same opinion as you. I heard some Beatles' songs and........what's so special about them? They weren't interesting for me. And what ruins 'The Beatles experience' for me is that you hear from everywhere Beatles this, Beatles that, the best band ever, Beatlemania blah blah blah, everyone knows who they are and I cannot discover them accidentaly like I did with U2.
  3. Saying that U2 is better than The Beatles is like saying the moon is more important than the sun. Saying Coldplay is better than The Beatles is like saying a rock in your garden is more important than the sun. Now if you were comparing Bob Dylan to The Beatles, then we'd be talking about another star in the heavens. Just opinions, of course.

Exactly. I think that their biggest problem was that they were ahead of their time. For instance, I bet they would have been amazing with an era such as U2's POP

If you ask me, I would also say that Coldplay are better than The Beatles. IMO, they're waaaay to much overrated. Speaking of Dylan...he's god.

Am I the ONLY Beatles fan here???? C'mon guys, where's the love?
and yes, Dylan is a god
  10. Never liked The Beatles, or any of the members solo careers. Just can't be bothered with them.
  11. I don't think anyone can seriously put Coldplay in front of the Beatles.
Katherine is right, though only 14 she seems to be the one with more musical sense.

While the Beatle's music may not sound particularly innovative today, it was unlike anything else back in the 60s.

To sound like nothing else at the time, while still enjoying unbelievable mainstream success and airplay, is an incredibly hard thing to do.

They should get credit not only for their influence their music had on rock today, but also their massive influence on pop culture.

Put simply; if the Beatles never existed, rock & pop as we know it would probably also never exist, and U2 mightn't sound like U2 at all.

    This is a wise person.
You are allowed to dream about U2 being better than the Beatles, but Coldplay? That's an heresy.
