1. Yeah, I just bought the January issue this week which has a big article with Kings of Leon etc., and so the Feb. will be released on general sale next week, or at least at the earliest available opportunity next month, can't wait

  2. Not quite

    As for what we do in case of a leak, I say if it is a day or two before we ignore it, but if it's like a week in advance we should listen to it (and buy the album later of course).

  3. can i get a working link of the clips? lol...
  4. Seems U2 may have been one of the last, if not THE last bands to record in the legendary Olympic Studios. It has closed.

    Seems U2 were one of, if not the last, to record in Olympic Studios (it's closed now)

    "But in a clear sign that no industry is immune to the global credit crunch, Bono revealed how the legendary UK studio where they recorded their most recent material has now shut its doors.

    "We were working very hard in London at a place called Olympic studios and that's where U2 was recording, but they closed down just before Christmas.

    "That was a little sobering for everybody: a lot of people lost their jobs and it was a great studio. The Stones recorded Sympathy for the Devil there, The Who recorded there, as did Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles."

    While Abbey Road may be more well known than Olympic, many great records had been made at Olympic... including the first Led Zeppelin album and parts of other Zeppelin albums, plus the other bands listed in the article I quoted. Sad that it's gone.

    Aww man
  6. If we do havea leak of sorts, which I'm not sure about. Some bands keep it under wraps, some don't. I had a copy of coldplay's album a week before general release and even longer with the Arctic Monkeys. But if a leak does become available, I'll listen to it and then get shot of it as soon as I buy the album, in multiple format.

    If though, a leak becomes available of a rougher version than the final version, I'll keep it. Just because I like demo's and rough versions.

    Either way, i'll listen to a leak

    Tis a sad day in the music world my friends...

  8. Great! I'm sure we'll live without the fancy cover. I did see Q Magazine just the other day, but I'll have to put a pre-order in on it. Apparently it sells out quicker than Rolling Stone Magazine.

    Yup. General consensus is:

    1 = Unknown Caller
    2 = Breathe
    3 = Get On Your Boots
    4 = Magnificent

    Should we keep the beach clips discussion to the beach clip topic? i don't want to clog up this topic, but I don't want to bump the old topic with the new album so close.

    That's because it's waaaay better, and I subscribe to RS

  11. I don't know whether we should dig up the old thread

    Can we add track 5 as Winter to that list? Apparently it sounds quite Simon & Garfunkel-esque.

    And I did realise that Breathe was track 2 quite a while back, my post above was intended more as a rebuttal to those who think the Beach Clips are the equivalent of the Salome Tapes, and will sound nothing like the final album, that Q description of Breathe seems to disprove this.
