From the Q magazine excerpt, you can see that there's a definit war/politicism theme involved. You can see in a few of the lyrics mentioned and the description of 'Winter'.

But some songs sound completely different to others. So, I think it'll be a Zoo/Pop U2, using some of the Achtung/HTDAAB music styles to create a War meets Joshua Tree with a hint of Pop album.

Or they planned a modern day version of the Joshua Tree, right on the place where they chopped down the first one.

Edge was the one who had the HTDAAB CD stolen. Bono just played the songs out loud over the beach, as you do.

sounds good, ,what can they say about this new one in reference to HTDAAB? 'its the sound of someone failing to dismantle an atomic bomb, it just goes off'? nah thats pretty shit, someone can do better

Takes a while to grow on as big as the one on the cover of The Joshua Tree. I visited Joshua Tree Park in 2005. We bought Joshua Tree seeds at the visitor center.

Note: Clue for the trainspotters... the ACTUAL tree from the album cover is NOT located in Joshua Tree Park.

I'm still not so sure that albums were necessarily 'leaked'. Seems that a lot of that happens. I remember there being a big leak hubbub when Radiohead's "Hail to the Thief" was leaked - allegedly.

In some cases, and perhaps with U2 at times, the band themselves have 'leaked' material in efforts to get some feedback on their work.
