They reworked UTEOTW for the Vertigo tour, but please play it like Elevation tour. Much better. And yes: Gone, UV, would be very great to see back.
  2. I'll still pray for shadows and tall trees, that wasn't even played on the Boy Tour

I doubt we will ever hear UV again, however they will keep playing Pride until they retire.
I think most of their older, more obscure songs have just dropped off their radar.

They brought The Ocean back for Vertigo...if they brought back that piece of garbage, we can't rule anything out.
  4. When we compare the last two tours, there were some similarities with the setlists:

Mysterious Ways, The Fly, Beautiful Day, Elevation, Bad (not regular though)..together with the ancient songs like Streets, Pride, WOWY, ISHFWILF, I Will Follow, BTBS, SBS, One were all played during Elevation and Vertigo. Therefore, I think we might see some more experimental stuff from the past. Bring on Please (electric), WGRYWH (also electric), Love is Blindness, One Tree Hill..etc.

Problem is, we die-hard fans love these songs, but a normal U2-audience doesn't only contain die-hard U2 fans but also more 'interested' people who might now SBS, WOWY and so on, but who never heard of Ultraviolet or Please.

I hope U2 will be less 'static' in their setlist..

They have to build a setlist for the real fans. I think we deserve that after 30 years.
  6. i think u2 fans are fairly lucky in the set they get anyway, compared to Genesis (Wikipedia is wonderful) most recent tour, they didn't change the set once, not once for 2 legs of the the tour. U2 may keep the old songs, the Prides, the Streets, The Ones , I don't think theres any harm in alter the less famous songs, instead of Miss Sarajevo play Ultra Violet or a load of other songs, and alternate it each show

    Basically...

...make the next tour f*****g awesome.
  8. To sum it all up: a bit more diversity won't be bad thing at all

EDIT: Indeed Harry....will be my first (if I'm lucky)..so it better be brilliant.

  9. Yeah indeed. If it's gonna be like Pop and Vertigo I will be a bit dissapointed. The Pop shows were really great but the setlists were all the same. I would love to see a funky version of The Fly in these shows. And Vertigo Tour was just a Best Of tour imo...

Thats they thing they would rather bring back garbage, that anything actually good.
They'll probably sing Elvis Presley & America before they sing Acrobat or something.

Dunno how they decide what to play (what the hell were they thinking when they decided to play 'The Ocean"), we all should write to them and complain about their crap setlist choices.

And with regards to appealing to the LCD, and playing songs everyone has heard (ie. the ones that have radio airplay) such as Pride, NYD, Elevation etc. I think if they played something like UltraViolet (and played it well) people wouldn't complain because they didn't hear Pride. I mean UV is easily as energetic as a song like Elevation, but much more interesting musically and lyrically.
