Dunno how they decide what to play, we should write to them and complain.

eeewwwwww, don't mess with principle management, they have powers beyond human abilities

  2. Apparently if you actually write to their post address, you get a response, though it takes a lot of time. If we have enough signatures or something, or do something interesting like send them a painting or poetry, we might get a response.

I mean Bono asks his postman and the taxi driver what he thinks of songs, and he has listened to fan requests at concerts (eg. Stay) so its not totally unreasonable.
  3. I'll die a happy man if they play the Unforgettable Fire live on the next tour, and I get to be there as well of course. You simply can't beat Edge's slide guitar solo and Larry's drums for sheer power & visceral impact during that song.

I know some of the vocals might be a bit out of range for Bono nowadays, but surely they can work something up - I mean, he sang the bit from Miss Sarajevo pretty well during Vertigo, so here's hoping??

ps: I agree too about changing the setlist up a bit - even changing 2/3 songs per night shouldn't be too much to ask for?

I've a feeling though that it'll be the same 20-25 songs per night. I think the problem here is that all the lighting, technology, sonic & visual effects they schedule into a modern show precludes some of the spontaneity they could have had with less sophisticated productions.
  4. I completely agree with you...especially about TUF

I have a feeling they won't play TUF, as they have Magnificent which is apparently similar.

  6. What makes a fan a "real fan"?

  7. I think, at the moment, it depends on your interpretation of what they meant by 'the stylings of TUF', i.e. whether they meant a direct comparison with the song or the feel of the eponymous album. I personally thought they meant the latter, but you could be right too if you were making reference to the former.

    Physical as opposed to metaphysical

Was Magnificent, originally "For Your Love"/ "Only Love"? Beach Clip 4 (which has the exact lyric quoted in Q "only love can reset your mind') sounds like something from TUF, although like all the other clips, has a lot more Bomb in it.

But even if the two aren't similar, they won't play it as Bono will have a hard time hitting those notes night after night. And also it is a fairly obscure and esoteric song today, probably play stuff like UV first. (though I doubt they'll play that too).

Or they play it on special occassions, just like Original Of The Species

  10. You mean on the next tour, they'll play Original of the Species on special occasions and not play TUF, or UV etc at all.
