    Good grief!
please, please tell me this is only a working title.........

In a way I'm glad this list is slightly different from the one in Q, because that means that nothing is final yet !

    exciting, isn't it?

Does this have anythin to do with Bono getting "into character" hm...

  2. seen that hat and umbrella? Bono's new alter-ego is gonna be Charlie Chaplin

  3. or maybe some clown theme haha your mind sure can wander

  4. Oh God, this is confusing, Can't they give us something official? I'm dying over here!
  5. Ah Zooropa-like song

Add Breathe and Winter indeed and we have a perfect album!
  6. Question now is: which interview was earlier held? The RS one or the Q one?
  7. Seems like U2's new one will be a mix of all their albums...why not call it Chaos Theory?

  8. If you read the RS release more carefully it says at the end of the first paragraph: "Here's a first report on 10 of the album's tracks:"

So obviously they were only allowed access to 10 of the songs, (or at least that's all they're divulging / being allowed to divulge); and it seems also that they heard a mix of Tripoli, finished or not, whereas Q didn't - or at least didn't mention it in their article.

Add all this info to the recent Sunday Independent where Bono was quoted as saying that the opening song off the album was 150BPM (reportedly their fastest ever song in terms of tempo) and you've got 12+ songs by my reckoning.

In the same interview, Bono also said that the album was "very long". Maybe we could be all surprised with a longer-than-normal album which would be more than welcome by this fan at least - the above info also fits in with the "eclectic" tag that RS have given the album.

  9. No Line On The Horizon 'cause they'll never actually come to a conclusion, finalise everything and release it...

...although can you imagine it? The 'Chaos Tour'! Sounds a bit Megadethish lol...

Haha..you first explanation sounds solid Chaos Tour reminds me to headbanging metal-freaks..

  11. The RS one was done in December, Q's one possibly was done a bit earlier. There's several key differences in the Q to RS interviews and that should give it away. A long album to me means each song on average goes for 5-8 minutes and there's 12 songs, and longer than Pop or Zooropa.

"It's kind of like this album's 'Beautiful Day' — it has that kind of joy to it," Bono says. With the refrain "I know I'll go crazy/If I don't go crazy tonight," it's the band's most unabashed pop tune since "Sweetest Thing."

The mere mention of Sweetest Thing is enough to make me worried, and this album's Beautiful Day???

    "Unknown Caller"
This midtempo track could have fit on All That You Can't Leave Behind. "The idea is that the narrator is in an altered state, and his phone starts talking to him," says the Edge.

    "Tripoli"
This strikingly experimental song lurches between disparate styles, including near-operatic choral music, Zooropa-style electronics, and churning arena rock.

    "Cedars of Lebanon"
"On this album, you can feel what is going on in the world at the window, scratching at the windowpane," says Bono, who sings this atmospheric ballad from the point of view of a war correspondent.

But those three are something interesting. Unknown Caller is something completely different, and the mention of Zooropa is even better.
