1. They mention all kind of songs to please every fan it seems.

  2. Indeed. Hopefully it's not just another "collection of songs" like Bomb but has some sort of cohesion running through it.

And Stand Up Comedy--this is the same song as Stand Up? This is the song about Bono warning us about politicians and rock stars who want to be politicians, if I remember correctly? For that theme, Stand Up Comedy is a pretty cool title.

  3. Yeah i guess it's like Edge said a few days ago
"We learnt through the past years and albums and we took the best parts to make probably the best album we've done"
  4. Btw,
    U2.com confirmed the RS interview

  5. Great... we have a short clown wearing eyeliner singing about sexy boots.

    HTDAAB had cohesion to it.

And are we sure that the 150BPM track is the album opener? is the 1st track confirmed as Get Your Boots On?
Does Beach Clip 3 (Sexy Boots) sound about that BPM for the verses?

And i'm not sure what to make of Will.I.Am working on Magnificent, which is apparently a Unforgettable Fire-esque slow burner.

I don't think they would have two songs with Stand Up in the name either,
and if they've changed the name to Stand Up Comedy, how does it fit with the DATA/ activism overtures of the song?

The article says Will.I.Am remixed the song, not mixed it. So we might have two versions of that one. Magnificent on the album and Magnificent (Will.I.Am remix) as a B-side.
  7. what if it all points to them going broadway on us and the tour is gonna be the show, bono plays an old school actor like chaplin and instead of a world tour theyre an attraction to one spot. instead of them migrating to you its the other way around this time. how would that make you feel?

how does this supposed eagle eye theme make you feel?

what about the mish mash of random sounds across the album? sounds painfullyfamiliar to me...

i like how larry went from stating exactly what everyone knows that they should do turned into another album like atomic bomb. i like how theres gonna be a track mixed by will i am out of nowhere when the whole time its been about the all star team back together again on u2.com. so now apparently its u2 lite yet again. but the thing im really excited about is the pop song that out pops sweetest thing. thats what everyone has been waiting for. the fan review of the listening party also makes me optimistic, sounds painfully familiar to me.....
  8. Is it just me or is Moment of Surrender sounding more and more like Mercy revisited?

  9. Some new stuff I've thought about, with aussie's comment leading:

It is sounding similar, but the RS article points more closely towards it. If I went by Q's description, it would be something like Elvis Presley and America. It is a long song, and sounds very atmospheric and melodic.

The typeface font used in the Q Magazine...someone over at Interference or atu2 wondered if it's the same typeface the tour and album will use. And when exactly is U2.com meant to relaunch, with the new layout and new features - March isn't that early; when a single is due to drop, maybe?

The band are talking more and more about Pop than they did during the last two albums. I wonder if they're finally beginning to realise Pop and Popmart were not all that bad, and a lot of fans, a few important critics and others see it as actually something innovative and ahead of the times, unlike the last two albums, which sounded completely backwards and past their use-by dates.

It seems every song is going to be an epic. If that's so, it's going to be a story and actually be cohesive. With a lot of the songs covering the war theme, I wonder whether you'll piece together a story about the war and current crises.

The way I had understood it, the 150 BPM was the new last day version of No Line itself.
  11. I though Moment of Surrender was going to be more like One, than 'Elvis and America', am certainly hoping for the former.

I wonder amidst this new talk of pop songs, if the album will give as another Beautiful Day, though I doubt that they can again capture the public consciousness like they did with BD.
