1. Make sure you do.

In years to come they (songs) will be released officially - probably with the remastered editons. Still curious about this MP3 link.
  2. A Dutch article from Kink FM (a pretty decent radio station)

Vanaf volgende week hoor je bij Kink FM de nieuwe single van U2.

    I'll translate:

The Edge, guitarist of U2, said in an interview with Rolling Stone that Jack White and Jimmy Page were of great influence to him when they recorded the new album. Edge told they influenced his style after spending time with them for the documentary 'It might get loud'. U2's new album will be release at the 2nd of March.

Next week, you can hear U2's new single on Kink FM
  3. Will "WINTER" be the new "MERCY"... the song that doesn't get released 'officially' that everyone wants?

    Inside U2's Bold New 'Horizon'

Has been posted in this topic two days ago.

Edit: Now with the scans, it makes it worthwhile.

  5. Perhaps it has, my point was not the article but the bit about Winter. Oh well...
  6. I think U2 should release a double album, like Bob Dylan's Blonde On Blonde, the Beatles's White Album, The Clash's London Calling, and Springsteen's The River. Double albums can be critically and commercially successful, after 5 years U2 certainly has the songs for one. They could include re-recorded versions of "Window In The Skies" (the best U2 song since "One"), "Mercy," "Birdland" (from the JT sessions) and "American Prayer" (which Bono sang with the Wheaton College choir). I agree with all those who mention how good the lyrics were on Zooropa and Pop, even when they were being playful and ironic. The music is what suffered a bit on those albums. But for U2 to make a classic album, it needs to fit with the historical moment (in the way that War, JT and Achtung Baby) did -- and our historical moment calls for another political album. The description of the songs, several which deal with war -- suggests we may get one.

  7. I would not want to see reworked versions of old songs, I would want a new album to feature exclusively new material, otherwise it's a complete waste of time as far as I'm concerned lol .

And I'm guessing that's not because you think the original release is a work of art that should be left unblemished...
  8. some more news....

NEW @U2 IF BONO SAYS IT, IT ...

We received a couple emails alerting us to a conversation Bono and Adam reportedly had Thursday night in Dublin with fans outside the band's studio. Bono apparently told the fans two pieces of news worth passing along:

    * The new single will be released to radio on January 19 (see below, too).
    * The tour will begin in Spain before the end of June.
