    That Dutch radio station (KinkFM) has answered to an email of a Dutch fan @ Zootopia and they say they get the single mailed this week and play it immediately....

    What do you mean? they'll ignore the embargo and play the single almost a week early?

    How earlier did they play it? Do you know the name of the radio station that played it? I didn't hear a word about this before.

    Yes - very familiar unfortunately. The only thing swaying me this time around is the fact that both Steve Lillywhite & Brian Eno, whose opinions I would value more than Bono's in terms of objectivity (particularly Lillywhite's as he only comes in at the end to mix etc), are saying it's their best album - only time will tell, I suppose??!!

    Steve Lillywhite said the original Bomb tracks (All Because of You, Yahweh, Sometimes, Native Son, Xanax and Wine) had no substance and nothing to them, changing them to what we hear now. I wouldn't trust him at all, not with what was done to those songs.

    Brian Eno has a real mind, and provided he gives it his all, could do some really interesting stuff and definitely bring a new sound for 2009. The really long tracks, if you know a lot of works by the man, is influenced by him. Also, he comes up with some unusual ideas and titles for songs you wouldn't think of in a million years. If the record is good, then he's done his job and so have the rest of the band and the crew.




    Time for another Bono quote, this time about All That You Can't Leave Behind:

  8. It's a pity the 'dancefloor shock' thing was just Bono fibbing. It would have been interesting, the last time we got something along those lines was Pop.

    It just shows you that NLOTH is not going to push the envelope as far as they would all have us believe.

    PS: He must be thinking about In A Little While and getting carried away. Though ATYCLB is their most 'spacey' album after Zooropa and maybe Pop.

    Maybe at the time dancefloor shock was the way to describe it at the time, or the only way Bono knows how. NLOTH was due to come out in October last year, so maybe that's how it did sound.
