1. I rarely post at this site, but I love lurking around and reading posts in this forum. But I just have to get this off my chest:

I can't wait for NLOTH to come out just like the rest of you. But I am sick and tired of people bashing the last 2 albums and not giving them the credit they deserve.

    ATYCLB
Imo, this is the best album U2 have ever made. It is so uplifiting and full of soul. Whenever I am in a bad mood, I put on this record, and by the last notes of Grace, I am all smiles. No other u2 album moves my emotions like ATYCLB does. Musically, it is a wonderful combination of U2 of the 80s, U2 of the 90s, plus an added dose of raw, personal emotion never before heard on a U2 record.

My advice to those that think ATYCLB is lame and a step back for U2:
Next time you are in a bad mood, go home, relax, lay on the couch, close your eyes and pop this record in. I guarantee when you are finished, your mind will be at ease and you will be in a better mood. Music is supposed to move us and this album does that like no other imo.

    HTDAAB
Imo, this is the best pure rock and roll record that U2 have ever made. HTDAAB is straight forward 21st century rock and roll and its finest. The Who's next of its generation. It rocks from beginning to end. Who cares that there are very few bleeps and whistes in there. Who cares if Bono's lyrics aren't as clever as they normally are. They are not what this record is about. It is about the power of rock and roll, pure and simple.

My advice to those that think HTDAAB is lame and a step back for U2:
This is very simple actually. Do what Bono says at the beginning. Turn the volume up as loud as it can go and rock the fuck out. Stop trying to find some hidden meaning or some bleep that you didn't hear the first 5 listens. I am so glad U2 took the time to made a record like this for their catelogue, because it is unlike anything they have ever done or ever will do.

I am not trying to be a dick or anything, so please no one take offense to this post. All I am saying is that I love the last 2 records as much as I love anything U2 have ever done and I consider myself the type of fan that knows all of the material backwords and forwards. I welcome the new style that NLOTH will bring, but I will never forget the last 2 masterpieces that preceeded it. These 2 albums are both brilliant and I feel sorry for the fans that were not able to connect with them as I have been able to.
  2. I rank them very low, just a matter of taste.

I do adore the straight forward 21st century rock and roll of One Step Closer, A man and a woman, Yahweh, Sometimes you can't make it on your own and Original of the Species, though.
  3. I agree that the last two albums are MUCH better than most people say they are .
My vote says that this will be closed sooner rather than later, but I thank you for voicing your opinion
  4. Only October ranks below each of them for me.

And rock to Sometimes, One Step Closer, Yahweh, Original, A Man And A Woman?

    Opinions are wonderful

Wow, what a witty reponse. You are the man bro.
  6. Well i will take your advice and listen to ATYCLB when iam in a bad mood and same with HTDAAB

Imo these 2 albums are great - no question, but these albums haven´t been put into an exdraordinary live show like they were before (Pop, Zoo).
Well, Vertigo and Elevation were great shows - Vertigo rather than Elevation - and for me - and this is my personal opinion - this is the reason why i like the former albums more than these ones.
That doesnt really make sense, but thats the way it is

  7. What do you expect from a post like this? Even through Bono's ears, these tracks are not what people would define as "straight forward rock'n' roll".

  8. I agree with you mate thay are great cds I thank you got to the point I like all there cds

My bad, I didn't know you had Bono's ear to know how he felt about this album. I apologize. I didn't realize who I was talking to.

My point dude, is the album rocks. It is really fun to listen to. I am not going to sit here and argue with you what the definition of "straight forward rock and roll" is. If you don't agree, who cares. Just don't be a dick about it.

easy on. Yeah made his post in the same vain as you made yours. Opinion. A bit of sarcasm is nothing.

Half the songs on Bomb are just simply not Rock and Roll

And my point is buddy, the album sucks (compared to what this band has done before) and I find it hard to "rock the fuck out" to the tracks I mentioned. If you don't care about other people's opinions, fine. Just don't post on a discussion board then.

  12. It's just that these albums are good, but maybe not as good as previous material. If you are a long-time U2 fan and you loved albums like JT and AB you might not fall in love with their new material.

I myself became a fan just before HTDAAB came out and I love it, AB is the only album I listened more than HTDAAB. I like the music, matter of taste, and taste, just like opinion, is different for everyone.
