1. Last time I was waiting for a new U2 album was the first time I was waiting for a new U2 album. I became a fan in April 2004 with the Slane Castle DVD and ever since my life existed a lot of discovering this great band. Before I used to be a die-hard Coldplay fan, believing there would never be any band to top that fan-ship. But there was, it was U2. I don't remember the last time I listened to a Coldplay song, but U2.. With the new album and single closer to us than ever every day I wake up I can't wait to start playing U2.

It's a weird feeling to compare the last pre-album months to these months, 4 years ago I was just discovering U2 and collecting as many material as I could find. I guess I never heard to a lot of songs, and find every live show a classic show. And now.. I even have my own U2 website with more than thousand concerts and hundreds of videos and photos.

I can't live without U2 I guess, I should admit I love them. I love these times, where anything can happen any day related to my favorite musicians.

Life can be cool you know, I'm so happy with the things U2 has brought into my life
  2. Now that you publicly admitted your problem, you can start with the therapy.
  3. That's great Remy. For me it started with casette tapes of Rattle And Hum, which my dad played in the car when I was very young. I liked the songs, but never catched up really on U2. Then All That You Can't Leave Behind was released and I think I only catched up Elevation and Beautiful Day. I was a fan of almost every kind of music, and I just found U2 a good band but nothing more. But since 2005 of 2006 I started to listen to U2 even more.

But before that, I remember loving live versions of One and Stay. I maybe only knewed about 20 songs of U2, and then I bought The Best of 1990-2000.... that opened a new world for me. Even Better Than The Real Thing, Mysterious Ways.... wow! Since How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb I really began to love this band but since the last two years I love it, I'm addicted and obsessed too. My day is not complete when I haven't listened to U2. So the last two years I discovered all their songs and tours, their movements, their thoughts about things etcetera. It's just some kind of feeling that I can't get with another band or artist.

These days I'm really looking forward to the new material, but I'm listening more to Working On A Dream of Bruce Springsteen: after the release of No Line On The Horizon there won't be much time left to listen to anything else but U2. I'm really curious and exited of the future world tour and material.

  4. I guess that's the way to go

  5. lol...I was typing a reply saying :"before Yeah sees this and starts commenting..." but here you are

Nice full-of-feelings post Remy It is an interesting time indeed, I'm not as much into them as you are right now, been far from U2 for some months now, but it is still an exciting time for me, to see news, reviews, snippets and stuff every few hours...it's incredible, let's hope it stay that way.

Really nice post, Remy... But I find a sustancial difference between you and me, and it's pointed in the bold sentence... The main difference between you and me (regarding U2) is that U2 has brought nice things to your life... But U2 IS my life

If I didn't like this band, too I wouldn't bother posting here. The love might have cooled down the last years - and sometimes turns into frustration and anger - but you know the way it is with your first big love, it'll always keep a special place in your heart.

It's like any love. It wouldn't be love if there was no rocky moments
