I do like the song and it's perfect for what it stands for. The little outtro journalism part is a nice touch, and couldn't have been a Bomb track at all, nor Pop. It's suited down to a tee for that particular album and where it is in position is right for it.
  2. Sorry to interrupt you guys but i've got a question

I've already heard a lot from Original Soundtracks 1
But i never saw it in a shop or something

So my question is : anyone knows where i can buy it ?

(As these are probably songs which can be discussed a lot i thought i could post it here, sorry to interrupt again )

True, but even the album version has a great feeling about, it goes perfect along with kite on the album

You'd be lucky to see it in a shop nowadays. To this day, checking out every record store here, I could not find it and only one store had heard of it. eBay is a good starting point or Amazon.com. It's a hard one to get in - I had to order it in from Germany as a "New Release". Another epic from 1995.

Probably the only true U2 songs on it are: Corpse, Elvis Ate America, Miss Sarajevo, United Colours, Slug, Let's Go Native, Your Blue Room. The others aren't really classed as proper U2 songs - so I don't think they are.

  7. BTW descriptions of songs must be reasonably accurate in this topic. So if you say a song is epic, it must have those qualities.

Otherwise we will have qualifications used that have a different meaning to everyone. ie. you may mean 'epic' in the colloquial use of it as "fantastic', which is different to the tradional meaning.

I would say an epic song is something like Where the Streets Have No Name.

Streets is an epic. Lemon could be another epic...six minutes long.

    Whose the judge?

  10. Indeed.

The beginning of Streets is epic but the rest is a simple, pure, classic rock song. That's not to say I don't love it.

  11. Length doesn't make a song an epic, it's the overall feel of it. ie larger than life, events, characters, lyrics etc. For example "All Along the Watchtower ' is an epic.

Lemon is more atmospheric, ethereal & futuristic to be epic in the traditional sense (though it is in parts)

@Yeah: you really like meddling don't you?
  12. I think New York and When I Look At The World are two of their best songs. As are Peace On Earth, Some Days... and One Step Closer. Oh, and Electrical Storm is the best song ever.
