    He was just Bono and that annoys some people, as usual.

  2. It wasn't something to do with his political stuff? Surely at something like this it is suited perfectly for it?
  3. Right, just seen some of the vids, so although I'm not sure what everyone's necessarily talking about, here's a couple of comments;

    COBL is in A, so that's something impressive in itself - they've moved up a key, I thought it sounded different. Not to mention the fact that they've moved Pride up to A too (this is making the assumption that they intend to retain the keychange for the upcoming tour, which is of course speculation on my part and nothing else), and I'd not considered a segue between Pride and COBL, and is an idea I must say I like. Edge and Bono are obviously singing, and Edge is definitely playing a guitar part (interesting that he's using the Music Rising Les Paul) albeit on top of another layer of sound, and I reckon Adam and Larry are too, but whether it's clearly audible over the backing track is another question. However, one comment, DAMN GOOD singing from Mr. Hewson if I do say so myself. Let's hope the voice stays that way for the tour...

    At around 2.20 of City of Blinding Lights, I thought the Daltons had made a return. Listen to that!

    I just thought it was a quick cut from Pride to City of Blinding Lights, not a segue; I like it.

    Ha, I wasn't paying that much attention, this is first impressions in fairness, but I will when I'm not about to go to bed lol. Maybe I'm doing it a bit too much justice to call it a genuine segue along the lines of RTSS>>Streets, but all the same I'd never considered joining the two together.

    EDIT - my bad, you're right Sam

    I think it's just the fact that he's actually nailing the notes on that performance as opposed to on Elevation and Vertigo that got me thinking the key had changed lol
  7. Both tracks were clearly heavily pre-recorded which is always a kick in the balls. Just some guitar over the top. They were under rehearsed and the only thing I can compliment about Bono's voice is that he tried.
  8. lol k well I think that Pride>>>>Streets would have been more appropriate...but I must say I was almost moved to tears when hearing that opening loop of COBL then hearing Bono say he was honored that Obama played that song at his campaigns etc...it was so moving

    thank you finally someone agrees lol just listen to pride from Slane Castle then listen to it...theyre practically identical minus the voice lol
  10. An interesting piece of trivia for those of you playing at home: MLK's son was at the inauguation too.

  11. Yeah....... the 3rd, right?
