1. I think it was a great thing to do. What do you want from one of these things? Fireworks? It FOR barack obama the first african american president of the united states. He used COBL during his campaign and has expressed many times that he listens to the band. Pride is appropriate because 2mrw is MLK's birthday. MLK would have been nice but time wise they'd be on to long. It would have been better without the whole Israeli dream etc. But its not offensive. I give them respect for doing what they did when obviously they didnt have to. The playback isnt even that noticable.

Oh and COBL was awesome. especially with the whole LET FREEDOM RING and thank you's to barack. its not sucking up its respect.
  2. I thought both tunes sounded awesome. Bono's voice was cool.
  3. Hi there, late reaction but i first read your comments

As most of you, i thought Pride wasn't so good (Bono's voice...)
But COBL was excellent i think !
A shame there wasn't that much interaction with the public ofcourse...
I guess it would've worked better i a closed stadium (better sound, less cold, abillity to use effects...)

    One remark still :

Anyone thought about the fact U2 where like the only non-Americans ?
Just imagined that when someone said "tonight, all artists all over the country are pating tribute to the new President"
    And then came U2
I've already said it before but sometimes i really think "they're more American than Irish"
And i think that's what making germcevoy and other Irish upset... And i totally understand that
  4. I know this a lot about U2 but did anyone see what James Taylor played. I missed him due to other things. Thanks if you can tell me what he played.

I know I thought Pride sounded all right but not great. COBL was awesome! It reminded me more of Streets especially with Bono talking over the intro. Can't wait for the new single tommorow!

  6. U2 2009-01-18 We Are One - Pride and COBL

  7. OMFG!!!
My heart is still racing from watching U2 perform!! It was Awesome to see the guys having fun, smiling, and singing for America!!

Thanks to HBO rerunning the inauguration I was able to see them just now.

I think Bono seemed a bit nervous on Pride, City was Great!!

I'm getting ready to leave the ground for some new U2!!

    OMG!! Sooo excited!!!
  8. someone already has it up on: http://u2torrents.com/torrents-details.php?id=4403

Quality is comparable to my recording, but he already cut and encoded it. I will upload his version on rapidshare this afternoon

    EDIT:
Uploading ... Will post links in 5 hours
  9. This gig's version of Pride was the definite prove that U2 has to, need to, got to get rid of this song for the coming setlist. It has no more power or any passion any more. Please U2, don't let this song turn in to a get-some-beer-moment at your upcoming shows!!!!
  10. great
  11. Do we not think the weather and first live performance for an age had something to do with the vocal and the pre-recording?
