U2 - Get On Your Boots

That's where my scepticism/skepticism (shit I can't remember how it's spelt lol ) is at, I mean what was said in U2 by U2 about HTDAAB being their best work...hmm...still, I'm perfectly happy to give them a wide berth, I personally like GOYB and am looking forward to hearing the album in full like I alluded to earlier, I just hope they have the substance to back up their claims otherwise we've got another good-to-decent album and a tour to look forward to. Ah, new tour...

    Better song but not a better single. And I do still think that Boots sounds a lot closer to Bomb than any of their previous work

    Hmm.... it's a great song as I said 20 times before but: they should have made the hiphop thing shorter, put some kind of guitarpart/solo between the last chorus and the hiphopthing and it would be a superb track...

    I think Boots sounds completely far away from anything on Bomb

    i made this exact playlist yesterday and listened to them straight through.....have to say Boots def sounds like nothing else in the bunch....i don't know if it's really sunk in yet, this one will take a lot of time, but i do love it


  7. Hm, to me Edge during the verses sounds exactly like he did during the Vertigo verses (the "scratching"). Both tracks are based on a huge guitar riff, Bono's singing is pretty close to Vertigo and Fast Cars, a little faster though. Also during Fast Cars, there's a bunch of things going on in the background + the "arabic" sounds.
    Quite a few similarities. Hence an evolution, not a revolution.

    I can agree with you on those accounts, the song just feels different than anything on Bomb, and I think we do have to be realistic and that unless the album has groundbreaking songs on it, it is just the evolution you mentioned; kind of like going from Zooropa to Pop. I think they're definitely headed somewhere else though
  9. I think it's another classic, almost all the others are great too... but I love it more than I did love Vertigo... Vertigo was easy to love, but this song sounds more complicated....

    Fully agree..listen to Fast Cars, Vertigo..even ABOY. They're all in the same spirit. GOYB is different but quite equal too. I would say this is a step forward like going from War to TUF. The comparison with JT-AB is too big.

    Its to soon to compare anything to the new album. We only heard one song. Although I agree with the song comparisons
