    I posted this before, but rumour was (or is) that U2 will play a promogig in Dublin, and that will be filmed by BBC.

    Maybe it's, as Yeah mentioned, a showcase. I remember Dutch band Kane played a small gig on the day they released their album. So everyone had been listening to the album the entire day and then they performed it live. Pretty cool, hope it's something like that.
  5. To be honest, I love the sound of those 2 youtube clips! I wouldn't be disappointed if one of those or both turned out to be on the album! They both sound great, sort of All That You Can't Leave Behind-ish, but great!!!

    On another note, does anyone know what the Anton Corbijn movie is about? I mean, I want the new album a lot, but is it worth spending 100$ over? I'm tlaking about that huge box set. What do you get? A poster, a bonus track, a book, and a poster? Is there any info on what the book and the movie are about? Because i don't want a book full of stuff I already know, as well as a movie full of boring stuff lol. The poster I can just pick up later.
  7. The Fly went straight to number 1 in the UK so obviously there was appeal there. Boots i'm not so sure about


  8. It's hard to say. It's a differnet time for U2 though. I mean, when the Fly came out, the U2 people knew was the U2 that had just won over the world. Their record was like, insanely good, way too many sales, and one of the best tours of that time. They were on top of the world, and people were ready for the next U2 record.

    Now, U2 I would say isn't as popular, they aren't as pressured to come out with something new and exciting as they once were. Plus, they have completely seperate lives now. Back then, it was mainly ALL about the music for them. Now, they deal with world issues and stuff. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just different, that's all.

    BTW forgive my super short summary of U2's career lol. There was a lot more i could have said, but you get the picture.

    I listened to the various singles this morning and also to The Fly, replacing myself to 1991 and with the Joshua Tree in mind. And yes, it sounds weird if you're used to Trip, Streets and One Tree Hill. Especially Bono's vocals. But the edgy Edge was already on fire on that single, he isn't really now.

    I also listened to BD, Vertigo and GOYB, just to compare the singles from the last three albums. I like them all, but BD is the winner. It's a tie between Vertigo and GOYB.

    Optimistic. Chris is a big U2 fan. Asking to listen again is a good sign I hope.
