1. I don't wanna sound pedantic but I think the idea Drew had was to focus on studio versions of songs as opposed to live, so if we refrain from that we could stay true to what the topic was intended for

    I believe you're right
So what do you guys think of Electrical Storm?
I think it's the best they've ever done
  3. Yep... Electrical Storm is one of the best songs they've ever done (I mean original version, not the Orbit mix). Damn it was not played live yet...

Definitely agree about the Original Version. Hate the Orbit mix that radio played.
  5. One song that is rarely talked about which I adore is Promenade off TUF. I can't really compare it to too many U2 tracks...maybe a few B-sides like Walk to the Water but really it's in a whole category of its own. So atmospheric and a good length at 2.5 minutes. Why is some of their best work in the forgotten vault?

    Good shout aussie.

    Love this song.

  7. It's such a shame really. If I was going to convert someone with a CD of tracks, this would definitely be on it to demonstrate that they're not just a stadium rock song factory. They can produce a lot of great contemplative material.

Promenade -- No 4 in my Top 10,I think it's the dogs bollocks (that's means very good to our non-English contingent)

Well there's two fans that I didn't know of.
  10. Make that 3 Aussie, I like Promenade didn't originally, but like GOYB it grew on me (albeit in different ways). On the subject of contemplative songs - October. So melancholy and atmospheric. Spine chilling, even.
  11. Seconds anyone?

  12. One of the few songs I actually liked straight from the off from War, along with Drowning Man and Like A Song. I don't really Sunday Bloody Sunday in album form.
