  1. Beautiful Day is growing on me again. I know it doesn't get the best write-up by some people, but for me the whole bundle is so uplifting and is something I've been drawing on in recent weeks.

    I love BD. Even tough I understand why some people can't stand it, it's stays one of my favorites. BD is, and will always be, the song that got me into U2.
  3. For me that's Elevation. But listen to Beautiful Day from South Bend. Man... Elevation Tour delivers me goosebumps time after time.

    Masterpieces imo.

    Both beautiful, but When I Look At The World is even better
    Walk On has a great ending, really love that. Peace On Earth has especially awesome lyrics, but the song itself is great too. Both rated 5 stars on my iPod.
    But WILATW is, together with New York, the highlight of the album IMO. Too bad they'll never play WILATW live...
  5. When I look is great too indeed.... they don't play it live 'cause Edge said (in U2 by U2) that he is forgotten how to play the guitar parts.

    I know...and that does make me sad...hope they might turn it into an acoustic, but I don't have high hopes

  9. Personally, remove Elevation and include Stuck In A Moment, In A Little While, New York and The Ground Beneath Her Feet and I couldn't agree more lol. I don't mind Peace On Earth, but it's not THAT great as a song - the song has real meaning BUT I just think the musical setup doesn't do it justice. I said it a while back, but I'll say it again - for me, songs that deal with big issues or have pretty sombre content fit minor keys much better, e.g. Sunday Bloody Sunday, Please, Love Is Blindness. There are exceptions to the rule admittedly, like Bad, RTSS, MotD, but in the case of Peace On Earth, it just sounds far too happy to be dealing with as bitter content as it does.

    Harry we agree on a lot of things it seems.

    TUF is the dictionary definition of an epic U2 song. Hawkmoon is also quite epic, UV is not so much, I think of it as 'scintillating' when (performed live anyway).

    But again we are discussing studio versions, because discussing live versions, b sides, rarities opens up a pandora's box of possiblities.

    I think Promenade is a hidden gem, and probably the most cohesive and well executed song on TUF.

    I love the atmosphere and the visuals.

    I wasn't expecting so many people to like it here. It's very lowly esteemed by fans, in the 2007 @u2 survey even Elvis Presley and America beat it

    Pity they've never played it live. But perhaps they shouldn't try these days though, they might ruin it like that abysmal recent performance of VDL.
