1. Geez, they're all coming thick and fast aren't they.

Six o 'clock on the autoroute

It's the Six O'Clock song! This article seems to be one of the more in-depth ones, which I like without the hype.

  2. What? From everything we know/have hear (Beach Clips, Q & RS info, reviews) UC will be better than GOYB. Why is that so idiotic?

That lyric from Cedars of Lebanon sounds like it could be rapped out almost.

You can't say that yet...only if you've heard the final version of both songs...

Which I've been saying since Edge's first mention of it. It just sounds interesting and unique from what we've seen so far.

Then again, so does the whole album. Magnificent, Fez - Being Born, No Line On The Horizon...
  5. Nevermind

Exactly the concept is great, the few lyrics we have so far ('escape yourself & gravity', 'I was stranded between midnight and the dawning") sound good and the Beach Clip was the best of the 5, great chorus with Bono & Edge singing in unison and an impressive solo by the Edge as well. (interestingly the solo came through very clear on the BC recordings, so if people want an indicator NLOTH solo's BC1 gives you a very good idea).

  7. This longer reviews are extremely exciting.

Seems like old U2 is back. Sound close to AB/Zooropa/Pop, with epic themes of JTree and atmosphere of A Sort of Homecoming. Which I think it's brilliant.

I expected something like that earlier but I was a little afraid when GOYB came. Not because I didn't like it (because I do - A LOT) but because I couldn't imagine how it would fit into the whole picture. And it seems that it fits perfectly.

One of the reviewers mentioned "no throwaway songs". SHIT, YES! Not that there are throwaway songs for me on the Bomb or ATYCLB but they don't work as an album completely.

It's nice to imagine U2 again saying "Fuck the past, kiss the future" as Bono did in Sarajevo.

And for the guys still dancing around Beach clips fire:

  9. Lucky us that there is U2start. I've been browsing to Interference at times and the only stuff that's posted there are the 'OMG's', 'Fucking awesome' and a bunch of smilies.

  10. Wouldn't it be nice to have back the experimental days? Have you got that picture as a wallpaper?

Edit: So, Casper, you've seen the horrible blue background, the OMGs, Superthreads and the 378 Appreciation Threads too?

I would post this as a full photo, but it's too big! (3.5MB)
