1. You know that lyric of Zooropa: "...skip the subway, let's go, let's go over ground, head out on the runway babe..."

Wrong? Yeah turns out. But that's what I always thought it was before a few months ago. Now I can't bring myself to sing along to getting heads out of mud

So how bout you? Anyone here misunderstood/misheard the lyrics for songs long enough to get used to it and find out your wrong?
  2. That has happened to me many, many times.
More than to you, sure, since I'm not english-native speaker...

The most noticeable misunderstanding have been of course on Angel Of Harlem and Love Comes To Town, and I've lived on my wrongs for almost 10 years...

The lyrics of Angel Of Harlem are "Filling up the city with broad daylight", but I had always heard "Falling to the city on Brooklyn light"... Nice, huh?

    Another one:
Love Comes To Town. The lyrics are:

"I ran into a juke joint when I heard a guitar scream
The notes were turning blue, I was dazing in a dream
    "

    And I sung
"Jumped into a church so I heard a guitar scream
Love was turning blue, I was dazing in a dream
    "

    And the last one:
"I was there when they crucified my Lord
I held the scabbard when the soldier drew his sword
I threw the dice when they pierced his side
But I've seen love conquer the great divide"

    And I sung, absolutely wrong:
"I was there when they crucified my Lord
I was a coward when the soldier took his sword
I filled this night when they fierced inside
I've seen love conquer the great divide"
  3. Red Hill Mining Town : Coorect - 'i'm hanging on, your all thats left to hold on to'

I always sang : 'i'm hanging on, you only slip to hold on to'
