    Best point in the topic.
  2. Boy: Electric Co. or Another Time, Another Place
    October: I Fall Down
    War: Seconds would've done great
TUF: Bad wasn't a single, right?
    JT: RTSS, Exit
    R&H: God Part II
    AB: UTEOTW or LIB
Zooropa: (live version of) Dirty Day, edited version of Zooropa
    Passengers: Slug
    Pop: Mofo
ATYCLB: Kite, When I Look At The World, New York
    HTDAAB: Yahweh, OSC
  3. Boy: Electric Co., Twilight
October: I Threw A Brick, I Fall Down
    War: Surrender, Like A Song
UF: Bad, Wire (Although Wire did get a promo single release)
JT: Red Hill Mining Town, Exit
R&H: God Part II (but it did get a promo)
AB: UTEOTW, Zoo Station (Zoo Station got a promo)
    Zooropa: DGPFYCC, Dirty Day
Pop: Gone, Do You Feel Loved
    ATYCLB: Wild Honey, Kite
HTDAAB: Miracle Drug, Love & Peace Or Else
  4. 4th of July, Mothers of the Disappeared, Van Diemen's Land, Love Is Blindness, Some Days Are Better Than Others, Slug, Miami, and Grace are all clearly songs that would have made it to the top of the charts if they had been released as singles. I would also have to include the B-Sides "60 Seconds To Kingdom Come," "Race Against Time" and "Alex Descends To Hell For A Bottle of Milk" as classic U2 songs that are simply unappreciated by the casual fan. These are all simply great dance songs. Off the new album, Fez--Being Born, since it is mostly instrumental, should be the next single after GOYB.
  5. Spanish Eyes, great promo video

  6. assuming you're in Europe or somewhere besides US...good point haha

but I think after 9/11 it would have been a good single, maybe with the reworked lyrics, but something tells me that would have come across as too self-conscious and wouldn't really work like it did live
  7. Someone likes the 'new topic' button I see.

I thought Ultraviolet would make a decent single, God Pt 2, Do You Feel Loved, and Miracle Drug as well.
  8. Bad was screaming out for a single release.
Closest it got was Wide Awake in America EP.

Other notables: Lemon, Running To Stand Still.

    Not with that length though.

  11. U2 has a lot of single mixes, which make a song shorter. Songs like Bad and Lemon could easily be edited to a shorter song. They both have a lot of the same chorusses, so just cut out some isn't that difficult.
It worked out pretty good for Lemon too:
