I just saw the low price on the box set.

Such friendly folks over there in Japan.

I don't get where the second quote is from.

So if it does come out on the 25th that's good, as I go back to uni at the end of Feb, so might get to listen on the last day of holidays, which gives me time.

Again, I read the reviews and Q info as well.
None of the other reviewers said that Magnificent was an obvious choice for a single, so it is a bit unlikely, and there are other more obvious choices for singles like Breathe, Stand Up Comedy, Crazy Tonight and perhaps even Unknown Caller.

    Right:

    Magnificent

U2 have been listening to the Killers. Oh wait, only a bit. Stomps along at maybe U2’s quickest ever clip, (they’re aren’t really for fast ones though, are they?) a neat 4/4 disco rock beat. THIS is the guitar album they have been banging on about for a decade. Huge riff. Some Real Thingish slide guitar choruses. Is this one of Bono’s God songs? Could definitely be about a woman (very good at that trope now, Bono.) “Only love can leave such a scar.” This is incredibly aptly titled, clever U2. Stadium ready “You and I will make a fire!” This will be a single.

    MAGNIFICENT

A future single choice which more than lives up to its bold title. The Edge's driving guitar gives the song a New Year's Day-style mood.

Bono is in great form when he sings: "I was born to sing for you/I didn't have a choice but to lift you up."

He's dead right because, just two numbers in, the album already has a classic feel.

I'm sure the next single is gonna be 'Magnificent'.
  3. I'm not saying that. It's just a reminder that some reviews see it as possible single.

  4. Ok, it might be a single. Has a good slide solo though.

  5. Would anyone have thought All Because of You as being a single? We'll have to wait and see...reviews mean nothing.

And is that track included in the total album length?
They could have sounds like in Zooropa or snippets, but I don't think whole songs will be hidden.

Will be too much like VLV, and U2 have never done it before, so they probably don't want to be seen as copycats.

I'm an ex DJ, i listen to a variety of music, from The Beatles to Stones, U2 of course, Led Zep, AC/DC, Joy Division, Kylie etc etc, plus my GF's a big Kylie fan.

No the track is not included in the album length, in fact by the time the track finishes, the cd starts at 0.00 onto track one, what you had to do was put the cd in, wait to scan, and then manually rewind the bonus hidden track, i have no idea how they did it, but was a brilliant way of hiding a song, and i dare say to this day, i'd imagine alot of people who aren't technicaly "with it" so to speak actually not knowing about it.

edit : just checked the cd, there is actually no timer on the song.

Well then it's possible, but sounds unique, you would think someone like Radiohead would do it, not Kylie.

Is this the only album you know which has true hidden tracks? ie. not like Viva La Vida, where it's just two songs sharing the same track.

This is the only one as far as i know of using this technology, but there are plenty of cd's where's the final track finishes, a minute or 2 of silence then a hidden song appears like with U2's Best of 80-90 - All I Want Is You - silence - October.

The trend these days though is having bonus Itunes tracks, say with the Killers Day & Age, Tidal Wave was a Japanese iTunes exclusive track, wouldn't suprise me if U2 did something similar with NLOTH, let's just hope we get plenty of b-side tracks with the singles.

Just on the dvd being released with the deluxe set, isn't it supposed to feature U2 songs in this film or whatever it is? perhaps that could be a way of putting extra recorded tracks out there, just a thought.

The film in the box set, is the same one available to download to people who buy the lesser 'digipack' versions right?
Does anyone know what the 60 page colour magazine might be about?
  10. , Casper !!!!!

I haven't listened to any of the beach clips, I'm sure they would spoil up the party for me... But I can't see how anyone can say if a song will be better or not, or if the solo will be awesome or not, simply based on speculations. Men, songs have probably been heavily edited or re-worked since that guy recorded on the 2008 summer...
