1. They all come from the same 'song' and the achtung sessions tapes anyway. So your idea is still valid
  2. since some are still going on about bono singing too high, no one considered what I've been saying:

    could be true? not true?
  3. Oh, btw the lyrics posted in the song lyric thread are wrong (at least for the b side)

She said "Time is irrelevant, it's not linear"
Then she put her tounge in my ear
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh

that section is not there , replaced by a longer section where he sings "you know it's gonna be" and then a lot of out of breath vocals and something about 'sea'.

Does someone have the proper lyrics?
  4. LWTSH + Ultraviolet +UTEOTW = BOOOOOORRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGG!!!

I've never really bashed anything by U2 so you'll pardon my exhuberance. I just don't like it. Guitar part is predictable, drums are boring (and that's from a Larry Girl!). Lyrics, meh. What's up with the "NO!" unison chant? Is that supposed to be 'punk'? Bono's voice just sounds weird. I honestly thought someone else was singing this song when I heard it at 6am this morning! It really threw me for a loop.

I've listened to it several times today and the verdict is in: The album version better be better than this, one would hope.

Can't find it anywhere, the Bongolese parts just can't be transcripted by anyone

  6. lol oh Bono....

is it just me or does this not sound very loud? most of the reviews have described this as LOUD. the album version must be a lot louder, this will be a difficult album. if not their best
  7. I've just noticed the late flurry of people knockin' NLOTH2. Can I just fight back by saying I'm still truly loving it after nearly 24 hours later and I am well past the OMG phase. I've probably listened to it 40 times so far. Great beat, great sound, and it's catchy. I wouldn't have minded if this was the album version. I can't understand the critical comments about Bono's voice - he sounds great - and the allegations of older songs being flogged. To me this is a unique sound and bears no resemblance whatsoever to any Achtung era tune. And contrary to other opinions I happen to love the somewhat understated chorus. Unlike Boots it was an instant hit with me. But that's just me.

Thank god it's not loud. Maybe the engineers and record companies are getting the idea people don't like music mastered loudly. I don't.

Anyway, that means you can turn it up and have decent sound without problems with the dynamics.

While it is unique in sound (reminds me of Boy mixed with something 90s)

Bono is definitely singing out of his current ability, he sounds out of breath and his vocals lack clarity at times during the song, you can't even hear what he's singing in the bridge as Remy has said.
He is never going to be able to sing that high live throughout the entire song, and what about the 'oh whoa whoa whoa ohs" every 10 seconds?.

The other problem with this mix is that it get's repetitive, and is probably too long. It doesn't really buildup to anything, is sort of a plateau, and the bridge is underwhelming (partly because he's out of breath)
Hopefully the album version fixes these problems, because the song's concept is very good and sounds very fresh.

I have a feeling though, that some songs on the album, may have great concepts, but their execution will leave something to be desired.

Dont be forgetting that it's a b-side and the purpose of a b-side is to try and add a bit of value to the actual single. This is just that. A cd filler. So lets not bash too much.
  11. Double again. Shitty 3G connection
  12. Treble. Oh guy
