  4. I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I think the version we are discussing is the alternate version. The album version is more ambient -- you can tell the difference from listening to the section of the song from the Walmart clips.

  7. As I said before: decent song, some will love it, some can't stand it. There are good points in it and there are weak points in it. I personally DO like his way of singing here, which is totally different than before. To me this 2 songs (GOYB, NLOTH 2) are vocally Bono's best studiowork (except for maybe Lemon). I'm not sure if he'll reach every note next tour, but you'll never know what he's capable of.
    Remember it's a B-side and I think it's better than The Three Sunrises, Always, Holy Joe, Salomé, Are You Gonna Wait Forever?, Love Comes Tumbling, Party Girl, etc., etc.

    So I wouldn't worry if you don't like it and be happy if you do like it.

  10. Bono's voice in this definitely takes me back to their early 80's material.. Probably because of it being sped up. It's cool hearing his voice sound so different.
    To those complaining about not liking his voice sounding different, I think we should consider Zooropa. I remember hearing 'Lemon' for the first time.. If I had not heard it from the cd, being able to look at the tracklisting, and had, say, heard it randomely played on the radio, I would have had no clue it was Bono singing, much less U2. So, in the spirit of Lemon, maybe we should try to have an open mind to his vocals? Either way, I really look forward to the album version and, though I like his vocals here, for the most part, I hope to hear the song slowed down and his voice not sped up or anything crazy like that... Yes.. the Wal-mart clips sound better, in my opinion.

  12. I think it would have been cool, actually, if they included this alternate version as the last track on the album after Cedars as a reprise. If that's the bonus track in the UK, Australia or whatever, I'll get the import.
