It is a lights off headphones album if you get the chance (apart from Boot). Who the hell put Boots on there??

  2. That will be the way.

    Off for now....
  3. I think boots fits alright. I love the nightmarish imagery that is white as snow, and eno is right, breathe rules. It's got a ton of great moments, sounds like one long epic chorus. COL was a complete turnaround than expected, which was cool. The album sure is chock-full of stuff, very fullfilliing. A leap ahead of htdaab.
  4. love the direction of the songs. kind of threw away the rule book a little. i do think if it werent for Stand Up, Boots would be a sour lemon, but them back to back helps. I do see a struggle for them pulling these off live. I wonder how many wont be played from the get go.?
  5. i've got that butterfly feeling. Woo
  6. I wouldnt be suprised if the live version of NLOTH was version 2 more then 1. I like 2 a little better.

  7. About Boots..you're right. Might be because it's the single and I already heard it more than enough, but I skipped it every time.

  8. You all just like 2 better because that's the one we heard first. That's the stupid thing.

Let's judge which one is better in a few days/weeks.

    I like 1 more, better intro/outro/bono voice.

Everything is better in 1, IMO. 2 is to aggressive for me, Bono's voice unnaturally fast...

Listening to 1 I can really imagine Sugimotos photo in my mind...but with 2...no chance. Eno is god.
  10. I'm very surprised no-one seems to complain about the production of this otherwise wonderful album.
Personally, I really like almost every song, except for Magnificent and Moment of Surrender (funny, I believe U2 called those songs their best, wasn't it?). But I'm very, very confused how a genius like Eno (who actually is God) could let this completely trash can mastering go by. There's really only one song I can listen to without getting a serious headache: Stand Up Comedy. All other songs are filled to the brim, way too bass heavy which is even more uncomfortable because the bass is compressed like hell on every track except Stand Up Comedy. No dynamics, no space, no air, no headroom, just maximum volume, destroying all those wonderful details and layers. I feel like crying. Another good, maybe even brilliant album slayered for the iPod generation.

Not really surprising. The clipping was already present in boots...
    Looking forward to the vinyls.

At least it's better than HTDAAB if we talk about mastering. I'm not an audiophile but HTDAAB was bad..very bad.
    I agree about the bass.
