1. I heard a rumour that U2 might be releasing a copy of each gig after the show or through u2.com, like lots of other bands do. This got me thinking, would that mean that every show was an 'official release' ? and if so would that fuck up the whole bootleg downloads section? it's given me a few sleepless nights.

who would care about bootlegs if we could have every gig in proper professionally recorded quality?

And no, it wouldn't make our own section redundant
  3. yeah, I should think we'd still be allowed to upload/download audience recordings, just not the files from U2.com
  4. could be a great idea, because of the quality but the whole idea of trading would be destroyed.... oh it would be stunning if they host the bootleg of every show in soundboard quality on their site

If it happens, I'd be the happiest person on this planet.
  7. Then I guess I'll have to buy a u2.com subscription

  8. Or they just sell it to everyone with a special price for members.
  9. Pearl Jam has done it for their concerts and after the show the audience buys it straight away - not too bad!!

Bono said this himself in the run up to the Vertigo tour around 2004 - then all fell silent.

  11. Yeah, that's right, and you could choose between mp3 and FLAC, and quality was really really awesome.

  12. I think it will this time. I read an article about the band enjoying playing with a mixing board for the next tour. They wouldnt care about this normally, but Edge said he would oversee this process if it did happen, so I believe this board is for mixing the shows down and getting them ready. This is what Pearl Jam does every night. So I hope it happens. I think it would be a cash cow. And we know they love the money with album sales down.
