You are an idiot. Magnificent epic?

  2. There's been talk of another album release before the year is out (here's hoping!!) They definitely have enough material from the No line sessions - it's only a matter if they are polished enough for general release and / or if they want to release them. Bono did say they would release another album based on a theme of pilgrimage to Sean O'Hagan from one of the English papers (Observer / Guardian?); so this rumour has in fact been started from the horse's mouth; and yes, I hope it's not the Spiderman soundtrack - just can't get excited about that or see where it'll fit into the U2 canon?

  3. Heard some rumours about a release of the left-overs of No Line On The Horizon, don't think it's true though. Well, I guess it's indeed something about the Spiderman musical
  4. Probably it's a kind of EP, like Coldplay did with Propekt's March.
  5. I hope for a dark themed album with songs like White As Snow, Moment of Surrender, Cedars and Being Born...bring it on lads!
  6. would be nice, but I don't see it happening.
they'd planned to get 2 albums out, but apparently decided not to, so why would they go for an additional ep later this year?

why not? enough leftouts from NLOTH. They planned to bring 2 EPs out 'Daylight' and 'Darkness' but decided to just pick the best songs and put them on the NLOTH album. So there are leftouts wich are more intimate and calm (as Bono said).

I agree - hopefully the band will recognise that 5 years between albums is a tad too long, and that U2 fans would lap up another EP/LP later this year. Also, as NLOTH presumably contains the better selection of songs, or those that better fit the "daylight" theme, then I think that U2 know they can both critically and creatively "get away" with releasing another, potentially darker album later on this year.

I remember Bono saying before that the weight of expectation that comes their way now means that every album has to be a monster etc - surely some of that weight will be lifted with the release of this brilliant album, thus freeing them up to release something more off-kilter or different by the end of the year.

Finally, whenever they do come to release the best-of the noughties, they only have, at the moment, 2 albums to pick from: Bomb & NLOTH, as they've already used "All that you can't leave behind" on the 1990-2000 collection. 2 albums for 10 years doesn't really represent that much of a choice, does it? Go on U2 - surprise us, please!!

yeah, I was thinking of that daylight/darkness thing.. hm. well I certainly wouldn't object to a second album here's hoping there are gems like flower child to be found.
  10. Songs like Flower Child, Smile, Levitate. They're all very welcome
  11. I decided to stop with listening to the album until I can listen to the lossless.
