  1. You know every song on Pop was great. Except for If You Wear That Velvet Dress. It just didn't sound right.

    I'd say it's kind of the One Step Closer on HTDAAB. Every song there is great, real potential but One Step Closer, no thanks. Too boring. Why couldn't they replace it with Levitate? WHY????

    because sometimes the choices they make are just plain fucking stupid.
    All Because of you instead of AYGWF is another example.

    I can't help agreeing with you on the One Step Closer point. It just doesn't fit with the album. I'd even say that it's their worst song ever.

    PS. Not totally their worst, it is great if you want to fall completely asleep...

    I think it fits fine along the lines of SYCMOYO. I think one of Bono lyrics is in it "Well a heart that hurts is a heart that beats.
  7. Ohhhh....so THAT's why Edge did that. Because they murdered that song and he was on fire which should be the new title for the new U2start and it wasn't played after Elevation but some songs on Pop should be except for If you wear that velvet dress and Discotheque should come back but One Step Closer wasn't very good but helps you fall asleep.

    Edge is a very, very complicated man

    Most of the songs are great and need to be finished
    IYWTVD sucks on the album so there i agree with...
    BUT it really has potential i think ! I heard a version of it with a Dutch man on the piano and i was really surprised how good the song CAN be... I think it's more somethin like Miami... it sucks on the album but they can play it well live (in the futur then cause on Popmart it wasn't good either )

    The "Dutch man" is Jools Holland and he's a fantastic and well regarded piano player who has collaborated with many artists. And I agree with you; that mix brings a different side to the song out then the live version and it sounds fantastic!

  12. i used to hate IYWTVD!!!

    always hated thought it was stupid and idk just useless but around 3 weeks ago i was going to sleep and it came on and it was PERFECT!!! it sounded incredible! fresh, sexy, dark, mysterious, beautiful, haunting.

    Love how Bono sings it especially the last verse :

    "Tonight the moon is a mirror-ball
    Light flickers from across the hall
    Who'll catch the star when it falls."

    sounds incredible and the guitar sounds seductive and Adams bass playing is mesmerizing.
