my dad, too, said mos was the most beautiful song he's ever heard.
  2. I have listened to the album about 20 times now. Each time I listen to it, it gets better. I believe there is an acclamation period for the new sound. Has this happen to anyone or everyone? I still believe Boots is the weakest song on the album.

Yep. After listening to a few other albums, then coming back and having another listen.

  6. yep. it fits with the placement on the album. it would have been a better 3rd single. maybe Magnificent would have been better.
  7. Interesting that Chris Martin, Michael Stipe, Wyclef Jean, Jay-Z & Beyonce, Catherine Owens and "Rick Rubin for wisdom" all get shout-outs in the liner notes.

There's also something relating to science "only an eagle-eyed fan" would pick up. I haven't found it (therefore I'm not an eagle-eyed fan). Anyone else?

I thought it would be a reference to ''Before And After Science'' (which is a very good album).
  10. I say this belongs here, but maybe not.

HOT! NEXT ALBUM: 'SONGS OF ASCENT'

We haven't seen it in print ourselves, but according to "dland9393," a member of our forum, Bono tells Rolling Stone magazine that U2's next studio album will be called Songs Of Ascent, it'll be released in 2010, and that "Every Breaking Wave" will be the first single -- a "surging anthem." And here's a choice Bono quote about the next album:

"Songs Of Ascent will be quieter than No Line in many ways, it's that ghost album of hymns and Sufi singing. We're making a kind of heartbreaker, a meditative, reflexive piece of work, but not indulgent."

That's funny, because the original title of NLOTH (in the first sessions) was actually Songs of Ascent.
